Last Sunday, December 15, 2019, as many Jamaicans and visitors took on the task of checking off errands and went expo-hopping for shopping and leisure, many anticipated Suga Lifestyle’s Christmas Connection at The Jamaica Pegasus in the Ballroom.
The event had been heavily promoted by LOOP, RJR94FM and the social media platforms of Gustazos, Fangig Tickets, SLEEK and Top Events Jamaica. Stay tuned for LOOP’s report from their live coverage on the day!
Patrons were guided along the path to the Ballroom entrance by branded feather banners of Title sponsor, Barita Investments Ltd. as well as LOOP, Digicel Foundation and for the 2nd year in a row Gold Sponsor, Development Bank of Jamaica Ltd.
Suga Lifestyle had branded banners, welcome signs and tasteful Christmas décor awaiting patrons with friendly volunteers from the Rotaract Club of New Kingston.
Whether early or late, a brochure with Vendors present and sponsors as well a as a token or treat compliments of Suga Lifestyle was given to patrons upon entry, such as mini Chocolates from Mount Pleasant Chocolatiers and more. Assorted pastries courtesy of GCG Events were quite popular in the late afternoon, having patrons coming for more and it finished in no time.
Silver Sponsor, Jablum also created quite a buzz by the entrance with their hot and cold Coffee beverages, including new flavours such as Coconut rum and French Vanilla. Persons grabbed their coffee and either went inside or lounged by Barita Investments Ltd.’s seating area.
Suga Lifestyle created a unique, tastefully decorated atmosphere for patrons to sip and shop in comfort. Many took breaks during or after shopping in the lounge areas provided in he centre of the room, where they could still look on and take in all the action as the Bar and Artisans lined the periphery of the room. They were joined by the White Orchid Spa of the Jamaica Pegasus who offered a Gate Prize valued at $90USD and showcased their Christmas specials. An Experience for Two at Stush in the Bush valued at $160USD was the hot ticket to win 1st Prize and Gustazos Jamaica followed with $100USD Gustazos credit.
Other Sponsors, Digicel Foundation, e-Learning Jamaica Co. Ltd. and Sagicor Bank showed their presence at the event as well.
Patrons got what they expected with artisans offering a wide variety of quality products.
Although everyone was well supported, Beryl + Blossom Candles, the most adorable potted succulents from Najwa’s Garden and Rêve Jewellery and Accessories were the highlights of the show. I am also sure that everyone can now agree that Alex’s Creations makes the best Cupcakes in Jamaica.
Conceptualizer, Gabrielle Burgess’s GW Art did well too. Many took her trendy wall paintings and creative, hand painted, compact, mini tabletop paintings that came with easels.
Handmade, Leather, chic clutch purses and wristlets from Beau’Amord Collections pleased patrons with unbeatable prices.
My Old Man Leathercraft was a hit with both men and women as usual. So were the natural skincare products from Mira Botanicals.
Local Chocolatier, Carl Sharpe who is usually busy at the factory came out to the event with his family at the Chocollor Chocolate booth too!
And that’s just to name a few!
Many patrons could not believe drinks served by bartenders of GCG Events were complimentary. Some became tipsy from sponsors, Red Stripe who provided Beer on tap, Campari who provided Campari, Sangster’s Rum cream and their Apothic Red and White wines. Suga Lifestyle provided other beverages from Select Brands and Vino is Wine. Select Brands’ Wine Cart, were enjoyed by patrons.
Throughout the evening, spot prizes were given away and MC Racheal Callaghan did a superb job of keeping patrons well informed of what was being offered, highlighting sponsors, vendors, local businesses such as the upcoming Blissful Dreams and the established, Miracle Corp.
