The Splash Brothers are Back!

PhotoGrid_1490882138975.png

There was another showdown in the NBA last night with the two top teams in the West, The Golden State Warriors who currently hold the top spot and the San Antonio Spurs who are close behind.

San Antonio had a blazing start scoring 15-0, holding the Warriors scoreless for about 4 straight minutes and eventually stretched to a 22-point lead. But their guns were out too early and eventually they started missing and their defense broke down. Warriors creeped back in the 2nd quarter closing the gap to 3 points. They took over in the 3rd and the Splash Brothers were unstoppable. David West who the Spurs sold to the Warriors this season looked like he had a chip on his shoulder and was on fire. Their bench was deep and everyone was scoring and Klay was exceptional with defense as well. The Spurs just did not have enough answers.

The Warriors erased a 22-point deficit and beat the Spurs 110-98, just one day after the Spurs routed the Cavs 103-74. The Spurs sent a message to the league on Monday night and the Warriors answered last night, even without KD.

With the Splash Brothers getting their groove back, the depth of their bench and the overall talent of that team, they look like the NBA Finals’ Winner. Get back on that court KD because that ring will finally be yours…and your Mom’s.

Warriors lose to Timberwolves decreasing chances of Breaking Bulls’ Record

Last night the Golden State Warriors suffered a terrible loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime, 124-117. After the Warriors were leading by 17 points they should have never allowed that loss to happen.

What happened?! 24 turnovers, Splash brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson missed a lot of shots, they went for 3s when there was limited time left in the game and they should have just gone for jump shots and most importantly, Shabazz Muhammad from the Timberwolves came up big scoring 35 points and Andrew Wiggins also of the Timberwolves was on fire scoring crucial clutch shots and the game winning shot.

Watch the recap of the game here:

Before last night’s loss, they had a 55% chance of breaking the Bulls’ 72-win record. With the loss, they are now 69-9 with a 15% chance of breaking the record.

Warriors Coach, Steve Kerr (Past Chicago Bulls player) stated that the Bulls felt the pressure and had a few losses on the final stretch as well.

The Warriors also failed their first attempt to join the Bulls as the only team to win 70 games in a season. This brings the San Antonio Spurs on their heels as well with their current 65-12 record.

The Warriors need to win each of their next 4 games to break the Bulls’ record and 2 of those games will be versus the Spurs!

It is still possible but Suga thinks they are likely to equal the record and not break it. Draymond Green of the Warriors said he cannot wait for the regular season to be over and all of the hype in the media about them breaking the record could have had an impact on their focus during the last few games.

The pressure is on and the Warriors already seemed burnt out but let us see how much fight they have left in them.

I love this game!

Last night, Klay Thompson of the Warriors suffered a head injury too!

Fun and joke aside, Steph Curry seemed to be alright in last night’s close out Game 5 versus the Rockets and has shown no symptoms of a concussion since his injury in Game 4.

Coincidentally, his ‘Splash Bro’, Klay Thompson collided harshly into Trevor Ariza of the Rockets last night in Game 5. Ariza was involved in both collisions. Thompson was bleeding from the ear. He was taken off the court and assessed just as how Curry was and later returned to the game. However, Warriors released this statement last night, ‘After the gane [Klay] began to not feel well and developed concussion-like symptoms. He will continue to be evaluated by the team’s medical staff tonight’.

Congratulations to Golden State for winning the Western Conference Finals, which hasn’t been achiteved since 1975! Hopefully the Splash Brothers will be alright and healthy for their war versus LeBron James and the Cavs for the NBA Finals starting next Thursday, June 4th!
