Mayweather Confirms last Night was his last Fight, 50-0!

Screenshot_2017-08-27-10-51-47-1.png
Mayweather will retire undefeated, 50-0

I am sure everyone can agree that last night’s fight exceeded our expectations in terms of how competitive it was.

Conor McGregor started off strong as expected and took the first 3 rounds. The 4th round was close but went to Mayweather.

We all know that if it went beyond 4 rounds for the UFC fighter, he would become vulnerable and was more likely to lose. That was a reality, as it all went downhill for him from the 5th round. There was loss of movement in the legs and obvious signs of fatigue. But he hung in there quite well until the Ref stopped the fight and Mayweather beat him in the 10th round.

Congrats to Mayweather! The Money Man added about £78.5/US$100 million to his pocket. He also co-promoted the event with the UFC, so he is may earn over £230m from the event!

What you NEED to Know about The MONEY Fight Tomorrow!

The MONEY Fight is only ONE Day away!

The undefeated, 40 year old Floyd Mayweather that has come out of retirement

vs.

UFC Flag bearer and two-weight Champion, Conor McGregor

aka

DEFENSE VS. POWER

Place, Time and Channel

The multi-million dollar fight will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Showtime starts at 9pm for local folks on FOX Premium for both DigiPLAY and FLOW. The other channels showing the Fight such as Showtime etc. are likely to be blocked. So if you don’t have it, you need to subscribe or catch it online and stream it to your Tv.

Pre-Fight Drama

The experts do not expect the Fight to be competitive but Irish man, Conor McGregor who has a history of winning by early K.Os, has built up quite the anticipation with a lot of confidence going into the fight. He surely has done his marketing job.

Tempers have been flaring because McGregor expected to do a face-off like the fighters who will be going on before them, but that did not happen. So when McGregor saw Mayweather he asked him if he was afraid. Then there was apparently an exchange of words and a lot of pushing and shoving.

The Weigh In

Both will do their Weigh In this afternoon at 3pm! Mayweather thinks McGregor will miss the light-middle weight limit of 154. Mayweather chooses his opponents carefully and pays attention to their camp to remain undefeated. So according to him and his sources, McGregor was 10 pounds over the weight limit just 3 or so days ago.  McGregor and his trainers are not worried and think he will hit within the weight limit with regards to their formula and how his weight has been in the past.

Not to worry though. If he misses the weight limit, the fight is still ON! But McGregor will face a hefty fine.

They will be playing with lighter gloves and McGregor thinks it will be to his advantage. He says he will knock Mayweather out in 2 Rounds now instead of 4!

What are the ODDS?!

Vegas Experts have Mayweather to win by Decision since it is likely he will follow his usual strategy of boxing defensively early. Once he takes the fight deep, McGregor normally becomes vulnerable as he tires.

The ODDS ranging in Vegas for McGregor to win are 33-40/1 and 20-25 for Mayweather to win.

Who’s your MONEY on?!

Enjoy and Please Drink Responsibly.

The Weekend in Sports! US Open Finals, Mayweather retires & more!

PhotoGrid_1442200651792

US OPEN TENNIS

Suga called it! Congratulations to Flavia Pennetta and Novak Djokovic, the 2015 US Open Champions!

The more experienced, Pennetta won her first singles Grand Slam title on Saturday in 2 sets, 7-6, 6-2, defeating the woman responsible for the upset of the year, Roberta Vince.

The Men’s Final with World no. 1, Novak Djokovic vs no. 2, Roger Federer was delayed by 3 hours because of rain but definitely worth the wait. Note that there will be no more delays next year because there will be indoor options.

Djokovic has won his 10th Grand Slam title and 2nd US Open. 3 this year except for the French, where he was a finalist! Amazing season. He won physically and mentally with the crowd against him in 4 sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Well deserved.

The match was epic! Both players were a bit nervous in the first set. Djokovic was the more relaxed player, but had a nasty fall in one of the early games, then lost his momentum. He got it back and played well to win the first set, where Federer was very tight. The commentators said it was a messy first set for Roger.

Roger looked more like himself in the 2nd set, using a lot of variety to even sets, 7-5. That set was an hour long!

Djokovic regained control and took the 3rd.

In the 4th set, Djokovic was up 5-2 to serve for the match, but Roger wasn’t finished just yet. Roger broke his serve and held for it to go to 5-4. Djokovic had some big serves in the last game and after 3 hours and 20 minutes, Djokovic hit a massive serve that Roger sent long to seal the deal for Djoko.

Roger is clearly the People’s Champion. Djoko had to hit deep to win most rallies or serve big to win points. A few well executed lobs worked in his favour as well. Roger said he is very pleased with where his game is at and we will see him next year.

After losing the 1st set, he was already at a disadvantage to make up physically in the 2nd, then try to overcome the excellence of Djokovic in the 3rd at his age and current fitness level. He looked fitter than Wimbledon but he has more work to do. Kudos to him though for helping to make the match so entertaining. You know it was epic when Djoko jumped up into the stands afterwards and shouted, ‘This is Spaaaaarta!’ with members of his box. Suga thinks this is probably his best and most meaningful win of his career so far. Well done Djoko.

BOXING

Screenshot_2015-09-13-10-26-41-1

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has hung up his boxing gloves, going out with a win by a unanimous vote over Andre Berto to retire undefeated 49-0. It was a good fight. Much more entertaining than the most hyped and marketed fight in history, the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight earlier this year. Props to the referee for denying Mayweather Barney hugs and there was less running, but more dancing. No joke. Mayweather actually did the running man during one of the rounds. He enjoyed himself. He displayed his quickness and agility off the ropes, as he is known for. Besides a very low, direct blow to Mayweather from Berto (for all the abused women out there!), it was a fairly clean fight. Finally we saw some upper cuts! Yes! Both boxers lost their footing during the fight, but it was in the last round that Mayweather piled on the right hooks and upper cuts, weakening the knees of Berto. But Berto recovered quickly and put up a good fight.

What did Mayweather and Berto say after the match? Well Mayweather explained why he was retiring. He said he is almost 40, been fighting for 19 years and has been a World Champion for 18 years. He believes he has accomplished everything, having broken every record there is, so there is not much left in the sport of Boxing for him. He is happy to leave the sport with all his faculties, something he has mentioned before, that clearly was a concern for him. He also mentioned that he has done a lot of charity work, which the media never mentions, for instance, feeding the homeless. He of course closed with, ‘Money don’t make me, I make money. I am the best at boxing’.

The defeated, Andre Berto said Mayweather was slippery. He had a lot of speed and was real crafty, using a lot of little things to keep him off his rhythm. He was asked about an exchange between them during one of the rounds and Berto explained that he basically said, ‘Here I come. I am here to fight.’ Berto said he pushed it to the limit but he fell short. He was asked if he thought Mayweather was the best ever. There was a pause and unclear shout from the crowd. Thankfully he kept it real and said Mayweather is ONE OF the best ever.

It’s not looking like a good year for Chelsea. They continue to dig a deeper hole with a 3-1 loss to Everton. The other big sides, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United were all victorious. Arsenal with a 2-0 win over Stoke City, Man City beat Crystal Palace 1-0 and Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-1!

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (L) vs Emmanuel Pacquiao (R) last Saturday, May 2, 2015

Mayweather wins the lamest fight of the century

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (L) vs Emmanuel Pacquiao (R) last Saturday, May 2, 2015
Floyd Mayweather Jr. (L) vs Emmanuel Pacquiao (R) last Saturday, May 2, 2015

Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson tweeted, ‘We waited 5 years for that… #underwhelmed #MayPac.’ My sentiments exactly. This was the most overhyped and marketed fight in history. But that is how Mayweather Promotions operates. Mayweather promotes his own fights. He said he is a greater fighter than Mohammed Ali. Anyone who hears someone say that is going to watch his fight. But that is why he is the Money Man. He has no education, he is not a heavyweight but he has grossed half a billion US dollars in his career and topped the Forbes list as the highest-paid athlete of the year up to last year, so he must be doing something right. In his post fight interviews he talks about all the cars and money he has and how he can retire right now. He doesn’t want to wait until he is 40. He wants to retire with all his faculties in tact. Was this why he was running from Pac-Man in the ring or giving hugs? Ok so he did what he had to do to win the fight. Fact is he won the fight. He fought smart round for round, only allowing Pacquiao to win about 3 of the 12 rounds. The truth of the matter is there is no other fighter as good or as tactical as him in his generation at the moment and he knows it. He knows why he ran from this fight for 5 years. Timing, fear and a bigger pay day. About $100 million US in under 60 minutes. Why would he care if persons accused him of running from the fight. Money! Red cars for Las Vegas, White for LA, Yellow for another place. Whatever colour is for where, Money! He’s the Money Man. He claimed Manny was doping, which put the pressure on Manny to get or stay clean even if he was not doping in the first place, as he was being watched closely. Coincidentally, Manny had a high rate of knock outs, which has been no more since Mayweather’s accusation. However Pacquiao has never failed a drug test. Mayweather is also going for a record before he retires. Perhaps 50-0? His win over Pacquiao last Saturday night brought him to 48 wins. There are talks that he may have one more fight this September, maybe his last fight. So let’s say he retires at 49-0 or 50-0. Great. He is a good boxer. The best? Hell no. Even though Mayweather is undefeated, let us remind ourselves of the stats. The Greatest, Ali had 56 wins, 5 losses and 37 wins by KO. The Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson had 50 wins, 6 losses (2 no contests) and 44 wins by KO! Remember people used to pray Mike’s fight would go past the 2nd round when they paid their money to watch it. Mayfeather, oops Mayweather, who is not even close to a heavyweight has only 26 wins by KO.

Mayweather won the contest by a unanimous decision, with two judges scoring it 116–112 and the other 118–110. However, Pacquiao received more crowd reaction as he threw way more punches than Mayweather, but hardly any of them landed. So Pac-Man was not a sore loser when interviewed immediately after the fight saying he thought he won, he was really convinced he won most of those rounds hence why he was grinning off his face at the end of some of the earlier rounds. Of course, after review at his hotel he reported that he saw there is no way he won the fight.

Why did Beyonce leave Solange? Should have put her in the ring. Not even an uppercut from Mayweather?! If Mayweather is so hype, he should have knocked out Pacquiao by the 5th or even the 8th round. Give us some excitement. There were probably only 2 or 3 moments that Mayweather landed hard punches, which stimulated any kind of reaction from viewers. Any time Pac-Man had him against the ropes or got any kind of rhythm with landing punches he literally started to run or hug him. What a coward. Pay-Per-Snooze according to USA Today. At the end of the day people will not remember or rate an athlete for the cars they drive or money they made, but by their performance and how we were entertained. Personality also plays a big part and the majority of the public dislikes Mayweather’s arrogance. In this day and age with the use of heavy social media, persons that had no interest in boxing and did not watch the fight will also see that the fight was disappointing. Mayweather won, but it was boring. He surely didn’t impress Suga. Let us see if he can quit competing with Barney for free hugs and win by KO before retirement.

Who remembers this video with Mayweather arguing with a Jamaican woman who didn’t know who he was?

Well if you didn’t know who Floyd Mayweather Jr. was before, you should surely know now. A fight has not been marketed so heavily in ages if so much. But the arrogance! Did he really step to the Jamaican woman in the video like how he would step to someone to fight them? Perhaps similar to how he has beaten many women in the past? If an audience was not there, would there be a different outcome for that Jamaican woman?

Suga is in full support of Pacquiao, a past Rotarian President who has also done his part in the campaign to eradicate polio. Mayweather should win by paper, but it sure would be sweet to see Mayweather get beaten for a change! Let’s go Pac-Man!

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight is tomorrow!

PhotoGrid_1430216952348

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao will fight tomorrow night, live on Pay-Per-View at around 8pm Jamaican time (So they say but there will be fights before. Be prepared for a long night!). It has been promoted as ‘The Fight of the Century’ between eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao and UNDEFEATED (except for the 1996 Olympics), five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Mayweather has a 47-0 record! He has been avoiding Pacquiao for years claiming enough money wasn’t offered. But now is the time. The highest paying fight in history. He cannot end his career without fighting someone considered to be his biggest challenge. So there will be a lot at stake.

CBA will be showing the fight for $500JMD and is a good venue. Get there early if CBA is your choice. Forget about Tracks and Records due to poor logistics and inadequate seating. Their service is also poor on a regular basis much less with a crowd. The Regency will be showing the match, offering a complimentary stacked slider with every Appleton Reserve Q purchase. Group reservations recommended. Then of course, there is Ribbiz. Guaranteed to have a good vibe. Head there suuuuuper early though if you want a good seat and can tolerate loudness. Don’t forget the home-watching party, which sometimes works out to be the best option.

Where will you be watching the Big Fight and who is your money on?
