Suga sampled the new Roasted flavour from The Jamaican Peanut Butter factory a few weeks ago at the Potter’s Fair in Hope Gardens and it was an instant buy for the home.
Word is that samples of the new Scotch Bonnet Flavour were given out at the Devon House Expo last weekend and persons loved it too!

Suga visited Christmas in July at The Jamaica Pegasus last Thursday. It was the 4th staging of the event titled, ‘Tropical Wonderland Trade Show’ put on by the Tourism Enhancement Fund (THF). It is a Tourism Linkages Network Initiative showcasing unique Jamaican products available for wholesale and retail by local businesses. Products are usually suitable for Gifts, especially Corporate gifting and Souvenirs.
There were quite a few eye-catching displays, however I was particularly impressed by the invitation and pitch from Mrs. Ronetta Crooks-Allen of RSS Naturalll Delites to try her flavoured Coconut Drops. I am not a fan of Coconut Drops, so I was pleasantly surprised with how appetizing her Cranberry flavoured Coconut Drops tasted. I was even more impressed that it was not too sweet or overpowered by the cranberries. The essence of coconut was still highlighted and quite delightful to the palate.

Their Chicken wraps have adequate amounts of Chicken with salad to satisfy your hunger with no guilt trips. They are a perfect combo with their freshly made Smoothies. You can get a Chicken wrap, with a bit of fresh fruit on the side and a Smoothie delivered to you on time for under $1000JMD! Depending on how close you are of course, but definitely value for money.
Kingston Kitchen had Hope Gardens buzzing with activity last Saturday. It was a great event for family, friends and foodies to unite for the love of food.
The event was well supported, probably the biggest staging I’ve ever seen. The logistics and execution of the event was quite commendable.
Just a few drawbacks for me. One bar was not enough for the event and amount of patrons. It was overcrowded to say the least.
I also believe that our Gastronomy network via the Tourism Industry should have been involved with the event to incorporate tourists from various hotels on the north coast of the island. Kingston Kitchen’s Night Market would have been an eye-opening experience for them to see so much of our culture in one area and in one night. The event would also expose them to Kingston, as many tourists are unaware of the many cultural activities, beauty and places to go that exist in Kingston. For the next Kingston Kitchen, I would like to see them in bus loads!
There were so many vendors to pick, choose and refuse from, Suga and husband went with a hit list.

DISAPPOINTMENTS
â— Gypsy House Tapas!
I have never thrown away food at Kingston Kitchen, but there is always a first. Trust me, I tried my best to eat their Seafood and Meat stacked Paella, but I just couldn’t get past the dry rice that nearly choked me and lack of flavour. It was horrible. Chef Enric’s, I Love Paella still stands as the place to go for authentic Valencian Paella.

They didn’t have any Soup for over an hour after the start time of the event. They seemed to have gotten things going later on in the night though.
SATISFYING STOPS #SugaSnaps
â— Lyming at Walkerswood – Mannish water, Curried Goat and more. Jamaican cooked food that goes right to the heart and makes you feel at home.
â— NCR Sheep Limited –Â Tasty Lamb sausage.
â— Rolly Polly – Ice cream for adults and kids. I enjoyed my topping of Bailey’s rum cream on my Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream. Delish!
PLEASANT SURPRISES

Suga had a ball in the Money Machine to grab as much cash as possible in a short period of time to go towards her Gustazos Account credit.
Patrons enjoyed their small giveaways, boomerang photo booth and money machine! Fun addition to the event.
Do you have a craving for Seafood this weekend? Remember Jabba’s Peppa Swims?! Yes, the Shrimps that when you start eating you can’t stop. If you do or Suga has peaked your interest, be sure to check out Jabba’s Seafood Buffet tomorrow. There will not only be succulent Pepper Shrimps, but Sea Crabs, Conch and Soup. All you can eat at Big Wall tomorrow! Check it out!

Starbucks has opened its 2nd location in Jamaica! In addition to the Montego Bay branch, there is now a bigger, more spacious one in Liguanea Plaza, Kingston. It opened on Monday, June 25th.
Suga is all for Brand Jamaica, but I am happy for another Coffee shop option in Kingston. They use Jamaican Coffee in some of their brews and I can vouch that the Montego Bay location attends to my requests to make my Coffee healthier without charging me extra for almond or skimmed milk or making it look like rocket science.
The opening of Starbucks Kingston should hopefully let Cafe Blue Sovereign brush up on their poor customer service, as they are right down the road from them now.
Suga is looking foward to her Starbucks Kingston visit!
