INGREDIENTS

1 box of Cake Mix (spice, yellow, pound cake)

1 Container of Cool Whip or 2 Small Containers

1 large box of Vanilla Instant Pudding

1 jar of Caramel Topping Sauce

2 cans of Apple Pie Filling

—————————-

DIRECTIONS

1. Start by preparing the cake. If you choose to use store-bought then you can get started right away, otherwise wait until your cake has cooled before starting to layer the trifle.

2. Prepare your pudding and chill. The instant pudding is recommended because it is easier and faster.

3. Begin your layers. Start with the cake at the bottom so that it provides a base. It makes it easier to serve.

4. Add other layers. Here is the breakdown:

1 – Layer of Cake

2 – Drizzled Caramel Sauce on top of the cake

3 – Layer Vanilla Pudding

4 – Layer 1 Can of Apple Pie Filling

5 – Layer of Cool Whip

Repeat and Top it off with Cool Whip and Caramel and enjoy!

‘Tis the season to treat yourself! Check out 24 Seven Cafe!

As Christmas Day gets closer, the Christmas specials get ‘yummier’. Check out 24 Seven Cafe’s delicious Strawberry Cheesecake, Mocha Cheesecake and Peppermint Mocha. They have Peppermint Mocha and White hot Chocolate as Christmas Specials.

The temperature where the cakes were kept may have been a bit too low for the Strawberry Cheesecake but as time went by, it got softer and ‘yummier’ with each bite until it was just right. The taste of mocha was strong in the Mocha Cheesecake and it was moist and divine. The Peppermint Mocha had the essence of peppermint throughout and not just at the top where you could see the sprinkles.

The Christmas decor at the Jamaica Pegasus was tastefully done. You will surely feel the spirit of Christmas there, peaceful and joyous simultaneously.

Have you been 689’d by this Oxtail Lasagne yet?

Check out 689 by Brian Lumley’s restaurant located below the QUAD in New Kingston for this divine, sinful Oxtail Lasagne that melts in your mouth. This may be your last chance since the menu will be changing in January. Also, it is only available on Wednesdays and Sundays.

It’s pricy but I guess you have to remember you are getting food from a Celebrity Chef.

It costs $2650JMD +GCT + Service charge but it is definitely worth a try. Surely do not forget your Pop Up Gourmet Advantage card to bring the cost below $3000JMD.

Oh my! Check out this lunch from Layer Cake!

The Layer Cake went World Cup crazy with an Italian menu last Friday. It’s a pity the Italian fans could not celebrate a victory and the deliciousness!!!

The Italian Stuffed Chicken Meal-

Tender and succulent breast of chicken stuffed with roasted garlic, fresh basil, olive oil roasted tomatoes and a classic 3 cheese combination of fresh mozzarella, aged parmesan and mild cheddar. Drizzled with a spicy marinara sauce. Served with an orzo garden salad and a herb rice pilaf.

This tasted just like how it sounded, ABSOLUTELY Spectacular.

Cost: $1200JMD and they deliver!

After popular demands I cannot wait to see what is in store for this week and next week, will it be French or Brazilian?!
