Yes you read right. In the beginning of January, I Restaurant hopped from from what I thought was the best, Sugar Mill, to its neighbour, the Award-winning Delmare Seafood Restaurant with Italian influences at Half Moon, Montego Bay overlooking the white sand beach. However, as you can see, you can dine on the Beach too.
A relatively New and Modern Menu influenced by what came in with the tides and what was freshly cut from a farm nearby.
Jamaican Luxury Hotel Dining seen to perfection with knowlegeable staff that had genuine charm and hospitality.
To start, I could not get the Signature Elderflower Spritz, but the Da Luca Prosecco sufficed. They had quite the variety for Wines.
The Polipo (Grilled Octopus Dish) is definitely up there with other fine dishes of Octopus I have enjoyed.
The Gentlemen left nothing untouched with their Mixed Grill of the Chef’s Daily selection of Seafood, the Local Snapper was cooked to perfection complimented by a sauce that was just divine.
I had half a serving of the Squid Ink Spaghetti, White Wine, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Snapper and fresh Tomatoes. I almost regretted opting for the Half serving, but that thought never lingered once my Tiramisu hit the table and I had enough space to finish it all. Every spoonful was Classic and Authentic. Just Wow.
Other delightful Desserts enjoyed were a complimentary platter with Macarons, Dark Chocolate, Biscotti & more, a Curated no sugar, no Dairy Dessert, Gelato & Sorbet and a delish, flavourful serving of Moncello & White Chocolate Cheesecake. #SugaSnaps
When you see Art on a Plate, then enjoy it with sweet symphony, that’s Dining perfection.
Remember folks, you do not have to stay at Half Moon to dine at Half Moon. The Delmare Restaurant is open to the public. Go ahead and make your reservation for currently, the Best Dining Experience in Jamaica and if you have one, go with your local ID for the Local discount. #SugaEndorsed
Happy Sunday!

It was a great way to kick off the New Year, fine dining at Le Vendôme Restaurant (Ig: @levendomenegril) at Charela Inn (Ig:@charelainn), one of the Caribbean’s Best kept French secrets on the 7-mile Negil strip.
Watch “Suga’s Sunday Dinner Special from Le Vendôme Restaurant, Negril !” on YouTube here:
I enjoyed my Birthday stay there last year and admired the old love story of how Charela Inn came about after seeing a tribute to late co-owner, Sophie Grizzle in the lobby.
Le Vendôme Restaurant at Charela Inn is a Family owned, community operated, farm to table Restaurant and Hotel owned by the Grizzles.
Jamaican, Daniel Grizzle met Sophie at a nightclub in Birmingham and after running into her a second time, he knew she was the one and they eventually got married.
Hearing his father was ill after securing a job in Africa, he took Sophie to Jamaica, stopping in Negril, where she also fell in love with Jamaica. In addition to their farm, they acquired Charela Inn in 1980.
As correctly quoted by Sophie, ‘Charela Inn is nestled by the seashore where you can quietly dine al fresco to the calming sounds of Negril’s seven-mile beach’s bluest waves’. However, they now have live jazz music from time to time that diners enjoy. I would love to return for one of those nights.
I appreciated that their staff made us feel that they were so happy to have us there, even on a busy night. Mr. Grizzle was there himself, dining with his daughters and even came over to ensure everything was fine with our wine order. He seemed to be keeping a close eye on his New staff, which is crucial in any business. An owner’s presence is usually the key to continued success, especially in Jamaica. #SugaSnaps
Our starters were the Soup of the day and their savory Escargot.
We followed up with their Duck cooked to tender perfection and their delish Seafood Pasta cooked in a light house sauce.
We didn’t have dessert, but Le Vendôme Restaurant with adequate, secure parking on the 7-mile Negril strip is #SugaEndorsed and it should be one of our regular stops moving forward whenever in Negril.
Happy Sunday!

Alexander’s at The Courtleigh Hotel (Ig: @courtleighhotel) is one of The Best spots to dine at for 2023 in Jamaica!
Last December I had the pleasure of being invited to a New Dining Experience at Alexander’s.
It was certainly an unforgettable Experience with fine company.
Executive Chef Fredrick Gayle became a part of the Courtleigh Hotel family just before covid arrived and has been patiently waiting to offer his New Menu to us.
We were introduced to 8 Courses + Dessert and more! These courses were of 1st world calibre, showcasing how we can not only take Jamaican Cuisine to the world, but think outside the box and put our own twist on International cusine paired with Wines from Wine Lady Debra (Ig: @wineladydebra). What a treat! Christmas came early!
Highlights for Suga were the spicy Oxtail Napolean, tender Duck Bruschetta enhanced by tasty tomato-tamarind chutney, the artistic presentation of Organic Salad Greens, a mouthwatering Seafood Lasagne and a vegetarian dish must-try, Baked Vegetable Cannoli!
#SugaSnaps to the fantastic Wine Lady Debra, Nicola Madden Greig for her hospitality, Exec. Chef Fredrick Gayle (Ig: @fredrickgayle) and his team, whom behind stood a lot of women!
Of course, I celebrated that spectacular menu with them again at Alexander’s last Friday night for GNO and I appreciated that the quality was just as high for the standard of service we received and all the courses we enjoyed. Watch out for that Oxtail Napolean though! Chef, a bird requested you put the pepper sauce on the side and not on top.
We also had the Seafood Lasagne, Grilled Chicken Supreme and the healthy Steamed Pak Choy Wrapped Snapper was for meee. The night was young, so we hopped right on over to the Courtleigh Hotel’s Mingles Bar & Lounge that has reopened with great service and comfortable, relaxed Vibes.
#Alexandersrestaurant is #SugaEndorsed.

What was to be Breakfast turned out to be an early Lunch based on our time of arrival for the second Sunday of the New Year at Spiritz of Montego Bay (Ig: @spiritz_of_montego_bay) on Rose Hall Boulevard.
Loved the view and relaxed ambience. I saw the proper setting for good Vibez during Sports events, busy Fridays and Weekend nights.
Since I missed out on the Ackee, I had no idea what to order, but was not feeling their Yaad Stylz items of Jerked Chicken, Curried Goat etc. at 11am. So I set my eyes on the Conch Burger and was disappointed when they didn’t have it. I went with a pulled Chicken Burger. Hubby, Randy and the Williamses had the Escovitched Fish Burger and Stew Pork.
The Burgers were basic. Definitely not a Gourmet experience, but satisfactory. I regret not choosing one of the Yaad Stylz options, because I aint gonna lie, the Stew Pork looked juicy! Mrs. Diane Williams enjoyed it.
Anyhow, service was decent and it was a good stop before Beach Day.
Have a Great Weekend Suga Fam!
