Suga Finally Revisited 22 Jerk (Ig:@22jerk) on Barbican road since their Opening Week.
I wasn’t blown away by the quality of the food, but I was indeed satisfied. They are generous with the side of plantains too, an entire plate.
I hear there are good and well, ‘not so good’ days there. Probably depends on who’s behind the fire.
Decent, comfortable open air spot with sufficient parking to grab a quick Lunch or Dinner and a drink though.
Big up Hillary for her great service. She will take care of you. I shall return.

A bit over a month ago, Suga and fellow Suga Taster and friend, Tennyson Arnold visited Nirvanna Global (Ig: @nirvannaglobalja) for lunch, a familiar spot for us both.
We were pleasantly greeted by owner, Mahek Chatani when we arrived and we could also see that Anthony Miller and his Entertainment Report (ER) crew were in the house.
Nirvanna Global is currently one of my favourite go-to restaurants, so we had no issues participating in their feature and giving our feedback. Afterall, I literally had takeout from them the day before.
Enjoy a bit of Suga ‘uncut’, speaking about the Nirvanna trilogy that began with the authentic Nirvanna Indian, then Masala Wok, now the new Nirvanna Global.
Visit Nirvanna Gobal in Progressive Plaza, Barbican. We had Onion Rings, Avocado Toast, Grilled Lobster and Salmon.
The menu is posted on their Instagram page highlights and they continue to be #SugaEndorsed.
Happy Sunday! XoXo, ?Suga

Believe it or not, Suga has not gone to Oceano Jamaica (Ig: @oceanojamaica) since it opened in Marketplace based on its reviews. Then the reviews became more balanced, so I started to consider visiting.
A few Saturdays ago, us girls needed a convenient spot to catch up and I felt for Japanese, so why not?
We selected Rolls that seemed exciting from the menu like the Surf n’ Turf and Peppa Shrimp Rolls.
We also had the Pimento Teriyaki Ribs and the other two items slipped me.
Presentation was fabulous, but the Rolls lacked the anticipated pop of flavours or spice.
No cherries for my Whisky Sour either. ? That’s a must for me.
Anyhow, it was all great to satisfy our appetites. That is all. There isn’t much to say about their standard of service received either.
It’s still Majestic and East Japanese for me. I am yet to try Koi Sushi, which I’ve heard good things about.

I am not sure why, but many of us don’t realise you can visit the Courtyard Marriott by NHT, New Kingston (Ig: @courtyardkingstonjamaica) at their Restaurant, Centro and have Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.
They finally seem to be getting a lunch crowd though. The wait was a bit long this time, so perhaps call ahead?
You can go healthy too. Besides my Whisky sour, I had Grilled Chicken Breast with roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables.
The food is consistently up to standard despite any change in Chefs and so are the Cocktails!
I would go for Breakfast or Dinner next time though. They have meeting rooms to explore too. Check them out!

Too lazy to cook for the family or need a quick, affordable pick me up? Jungle Fiah Jamaica (Ig: @junglefiahja) is the spot!
They have 4 locations and deliver, but Suga stopped by the Brunswick, Spanish Town location a few Sundays ago on the way in from St. Mary.
They have a menu to order from with light food such as Sandwiches, Chicken, Fries etc., but their Buffet offering is fantastic! Pick, choose and refuse and fill your own box, but know that it will be weighed afterwards.
Two full boxes came to J$2700 with a variety of meats and sides, including Curried, Baked & Sweet & Sour Chicken + more, rice and peas, some big big slices of plantain and don’t forget the vegetables.
They have friendly staff and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Jungle Fiah Jamaica is #SugaEndorsed.
Have a great day now!

It was amazing! Dream about it until after the Devon House construction finishes though. Sorrrry, they are temporarily closed, renovating the dining and bar areas in the mean time. So until then!
Enjoy the weekend! XoXo, 💖Suga

Good Morning Suga Fam! I’m awake! The Coffee has opened my eyes😀
Making your way off or towards the AGR Byfield Highway and need to make a stop for some good ol’ Jamaican cuisine?
Stop by the The Roxborough Bar and Grill (Ig: @_theroxborough)! They are open EVERYDAY for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Parking is adequate and the staff are quite hospitable.
Di Ackee did sweet mi and di family did love di Run Down. Breakfast came out quickly too.
I hope it’s the same for Lunch and Dinner, especially if you get Seafood. If you feel stranded and hungry, I got you.

Last Sunday, us Ladies swapped Kitchen Aprons for chic tops & Sunday dresses to head to a late lunch at the new ROK Hotel Kingston (Ig: @rokhotelkingston) in downtown Kingston.
Very much like downtown Miami, it’s paid Parking.
Tasteful, modern decor with furniture and art from local artists adorned their lobby and walls as we headed up to the Rokstone Grill.
The breezy seating area with a spectacular view of the waterfront was spacious with comfortable options and we were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately.
Be conscious of dress/skirt as well as hairstyle choices ladies.
Our waitress was none other than the bright and charismatic, Sasheni! You better ask for her!
She took us through that menu like the grill had been opened for a decade. Her suggestions were on point too (Hint Hint). Suga has received quite a bit of feedback before deciding to visit. The fine dining restaurant would not be open until 6pm, but would I put on my Sunday dress, let down my hair and head to this new rooftop grill with jazzy music and order a Burger? Let’s be a bit more adventurous when we go out and try new places Suga fam.
We kicked things off with Passion Coconut Seafood Ceviche, Crispy Calamari and Baby Greens with Granny Smith Apples.
The Ceviche needed to be complemented with something like a Pico de Gallo for added flavour and colour on the dish.
The Calamari was a bit on the salty side and we had to ask for the passion fruit-thyme vinaigrette, which was supposed to be drizzled over the Baby Green salad. Then it was good to go. Quite a large serving too.
Cocktails arrived and they were fantastic. Especially the ‘Rebirth of Kingston’, similar to a sangria, but with rum.
Our mains arrived in covered bowls to withstand the breezy elements of the rooftop. We enjoyed the Pimento Grilled Chicken and Guava BBQ Rum Ribs accompanied by provided Walkerswood pepper sauces. The Ribs didn’t slide off the bone, but they were still tender and juicy.
We were very tempted to have the Dragon Stout Brownie as the finale, but Sash sold us on the Mango Cheesecake that was not presented as your typical Cheesecake slice. Kudos to her, it was fantastic! I’m still going back for that Brownie though.
Lovely day out Suga Fam. I advise you to participate in the rebuild of downtown Kingston. But of course, you need to carry a little extra dues. Enjoy the weekend!
