TGIF! Geesh! Cool it down with Chill-Pops Gourmet Paletas!
Chill-Pops Gourmet Paletas is located in the same Boardwalk Shopping Village across from Negril Tree House with Matthew’s Sushi Bar and Grill!
It’s the cutest little cart to shop from that’s not on wheels.
Don’t get it twisted, Chill-Pops Gourmet Paletas offers Gourmet Paletas not Popsicles. The difference? Popsicles are non-dairy frozen, flavoured treats, while Paletas, as they call them in Mexico are frozen treats made from natural ingredients such as Fruits or rich, creamy ingredients like my hubby’s Coffee Paleta.
Loved the variety! Imagine having a Margarita or a Whiskey Sour Paleta like me?!
It was refreshing and so tasty, with actual slices of lime inside. Based on what you order, you can add toppings too. We neeeed a Chill-Pops Gourmet Paletas in Kingston. They are #SugaEndorsed.

With the Holidays coming to a close last weekend, Suga and hubby, Randy visited Matthew’s Sushi Bar & Restaurant located in The Boardwalk Shopping Village across from Negril Tree House last Friday.
It’s been a bit over a year since Suga Taster, Kimberly Nesbeth enjoyed it. Let’s see how they have kept up!
Suga’s Ratings for Matthew’s Sushi-Bar-Restaurant
There was absolutely no room for Dessert, but I was happy to see that it is baked fresh daily from The Pastry Place in the same complex.
The food and service were superb. There was no Fireball Whisky though! So next time I will be back for The Hustler Cocktail and more. Check out their menu on their Instagram Page (@matthewsnegril) and if you’re in Negril, stop by! They are #SugaEndorsed.

On Christmas Eve we visited the new Trio Grill Wine Bar on 64 Hope Road. You would never believe Kingston’s newest Restaurant, Lounge and Bar was the original home of Chilitos. They surely did a lot with the place, including a visible private lounge that hosted a Birthday party.
Great ambience and I loved the friendly, attentive, festive mood of the staff.
We thought based on our wait, Chef Haleem Card went to hunt and kill the Lamb, but our dishes were superb upon arrival and thankfully worth the wait.
We had tasty Calamari and Crab Cakes for starters, followed by a delish Surf and Turf with my Hubby, Randy’s Steak cooked to order, medium rare and sizeable juicy, tender Lamb Chops.#SugaSnaps Chef Card.
I’m looking forward to returning to try those signature jumbo Prawns.

After 3 years, I finally made it. Imagine it took a German friend visiting Jamaica to tell me about RafJam Bread and Breakfast. Then I was reminded about it by Jamaica’s 1st Blue Mountain Coffee Festival a bit over 2 years ago when they drafted their Culinary trail and posted signs all along the way. Look out for them!
RafJam Bread and Breakfast is nestled in Red Light District, Irish Town, also known as Backpacker District. It’s the Right turn after Craighton Estate, i.e. the 2nd Right turn after Cafe Blue. When you make that right turn leading downhill to RafJam, follow the signs and beware that the road is a bit ‘Raf’. But difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations right?! Indeed it did.
My husband, Randy and I, parked walking distance away so we wouldn’t block in anyone and arrived at the quaintest house tucked away in the Blue Mountains. We were greeted by owner, Susan, telling us immediately what was for Breakfast as if she was welcoming us home from a long trip on the road. It is indeed her home. Susan inherited her parent’s house and decided to transform the lush, tropical paradise into a magnificent Blue Mountain getaway.
I was initially disappointed that we missed out on the Ackee & Callaloo, leaving limited choices of Salt Mackerel or Saltfish and Baked Beans, but I was prepared for simple, Jamaican cuisine. We both ordered the Salt Mackerel.
We sat outdoors with an instant reminder of how beautiful Jamaica is. We overlooked, lush, green vegetation by a river and small waterfall. Tropical Paradise. Sweet Jamaica. Jamaica Land We Love.
Our Breakfast arrived and it was far from simple. It was freshly cooked, homemade, farm to table goodness! Salt Mackerel with boiled food to equip you to make a small climb up to see their 15-ft waterfall, and a side of fresh watermelon.
It was cold, but we enjoyed the freshwater river pools, didn’t take the clean, fresh air for granted and had a few drinks from their Tiki Bar before we headed back downhill to make curfew.
Upon leaving we heard them telling a few European visitors what was for Lunch, a more expanded menu, with more Jamaican goodness. We were very tempted to stay, so will return to RafJam, hopefully one day soon. #SugaEndorsed

Open for just over a year now, Casta’s Rum Bar has racked up street credit for not only being Washington DC’s Best Cuban Rum Bar, but one of the hottest Bars in DC!
Suga cannot wait to travel again and hit this spot. Soooo jealous of Suga Taster, Jody Dixon! She visited a few weeks ago with friends and said her smiles were courtesy of Passionfruit and Tequila!
Check out the juicy, salivating Dishes and refreshing Cocktails that she and her friends enjoyed here!
The Menu is online! If you’re in DC, this looks like a spot to hit for sure!

After Suga Lifestyle spent last Saturday successfully showcasing a few of our local businesses and entrepreneurs, what better way to celebrate than with an Authentic Jamaican Dinner!
It has been long overdue, but I returned to the Reggae Mill Restaurant last Sunday with hubby, Randy.
Their Jamaican Wings started us off and my only complaint is that we wanted more. Seasoned to perfection with a sauce that was finger lickin’ good.
We missed out on their tender Oxtail, so we both had the Ruddy Ram Goat with Steamed veggies, festival and the available rice and peas. Tasty, truly authentic Jamaican Curried Goat.
As if I didn’t have enough Bread Pudding for the weekend, I couldn’t pass theirs up either. They surely didn’t short us on the Rum in that Rum and Raisin Bread Pudding.
Comfortable setting and decent ambience with staff adhering to Covid-19 protocol. Reggae Mill Restaurant is #SugaEndorsed.
Even though she may not have been there that day, kudos to her guidance and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to Reggae Mill Restaurant’s Executive Chef and Managing Director Orlease King!

Suga’s Comments: Chive Restaurant continues to be #SugaEndorsed. I went with my hubby, Randy two Saturdays ago and it is certainly a pleasure each visit or even when we do takeout.
The flavours of Chive’s dishes set them apart. Their Crab Cake appetizer was divine! They used a curry for it that was not overpowering, so you could enjoy both the Crab meat, accentuated by the curry. Bravo.
The Lobster Tacos were excellent. Great serving too.
Their PESTO is RICH! We enjoyed a delish Pesto Pasta with Grilled Chicken.
Now their Mac & Cheese dishes, where you can choose a topping from Short Ribs to Shrimp is SINFULLY fantastic.
Not to mention their house made Cheesecake! Yummy with the perfect texture 👌🾠They owe me that Tiramisu that I missed out on! 😉
Safety measures were in place and practiced as we Cope with Covid-19 together. Pay Chive Restaurant a visit or do Takeout! Definitely Value for Money.

After 20 years of loyal patronage by locals and overseas visitors, Harmony Hall was sold and Toscanini closed.
Toscanini’s Chef, Pierluigi Ricci, nicknamed PG, opened PG’s Restaurant & Wine Bar along Tower Isle in October of last year.
He was happy to find the space, which he continues to make his own. Suga missed out on her trip to Rome this year, but you don’t have to go to Rome to experience the vintage ambience PG has created.
PG’s menu is based on what’s available at sea or is farm to table, accompanied by an extensive Wine List.
The dishes served continue to be high quality, authentic Italian dishes. Their fresh homemade Pasta is one of the best on the island and along with Simos Bread and Catering, so is their Tiramisu.
For Independence Day Weekend two Fridays ago, Suga dined with family, a party of 4. See some of what we enjoyed here!
We had Escargot Bourguignon, fresh Mozzarella Caprese Salad, Pappardelle Boscaiola (Bacon & fresh mushroom in a cream & tomato sauce), Pappardelle Promodoro with grilled Shrimp (Shaved parmesan cheese & rucola pesto) although they were out of Pesto so I received tomato sauce instead, Smoked Pork Chop in an apple cider sauce that was juicy to the bone and the fresh catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi.
Definitely value for money and worth the drive for Lunch one weekend if coming from Kingston. Pizza nights and rooftop dining may be on the horizon too.

Suga has been craving lobster since it has been back in season. A restaurant was out of lobster last week, so why not go to an actual seafood restaurant, better yet, a new one!
Offshore Seafood Lounge facilitates social distancing with their ample rooftop dining space, whether covered or uncovered. So no need to worry about bad weather. I went when the evening just about cooled down and I could enjoy the airy seating with a city view, taking in all of Constant Spring’s new developments. Wink wink foodies!
Princess was our server and she did a great job. Attentive and pleasant throughout our stay, because we were there for hours. I blame the Bar and an excellent bartender. You know it’s hard to find a tasty, blended Piña Colada nowadays?! Even some of the hotels water it down, but you can get an authentic, rich, thick Piña Colada at Offshore Seafood Lounge.
We were offered complimentary Lobster Head Soup as a starter, which we enjoyed and everything we ate after that too. Well seasoned, fresh seafood, rich flavours, tasty sides, satisfying portions and great presentation, all for a reasonable price. Definitely value for money.
For the ladies who love their pics, there is an Offshore themed painted wall with great lighting upon entry. The DJ is also quite good. They surely seem to live by their tag line, Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Vibe. Give them a visit if they are open for the Holiday tomorrow, or this weekend! They are #SugaEndorsed.

Suga has been celebrating her Birthday ALL Month long. JUNE, the month when we can go back outside, is definitely worth celebrating!
I had to make a stop Jamaica Liquor Warehouse for a little Birthday treat. Thank you! 💖
I had their house faves, the Loaded Fries w/ Tomatoes, Onions & Cheese ($1000JMD+tx), Waffles w/ Crispy Chicken & spicy Maple Syrup ($1500JMD+tx) – one of the Best around town and their Frozen Mint Lemonade ($500JMD+tx).
My Suga Baby, Tricia O’Connor, also a regular at Jamaica Liquor Warehouse and supporter of Suga Lifestyle’s initiatives enjoyed her crushed Green Plantain Bruschetta and had a decent Quinoa Salad with Chicken ($2000JMD+tx).
I am happy to see Jamaica Liquor Warehouse fully open again.
Check out their current Opening Hours and Menu here:
***They are also offering a Graduation Special for 4 for $10,500 tx incl. on Tuesdays and Thursdays!***
Give them a visit! Cheers!
