TGIF! CONGRATULATIONS to not only the JLP, but JAMAICA!

With great weather, COVID or no COVID, it has been made clear that Jamaicans have exercised their right to vote. With a low voter turnout, if persons did not choose to vote, based on the results, that speaks volumes as well.


History has certainly been made.
I am sure there will be recounts of a few marginal seats with victories of less than 25 votes, such as Lisa Hanna’s seat, Hugh Graham & Luther Buchanan, who lost to Daniel Lawrence.

With 10 mystery boxes left to be counted in Juliet Holness’ and Joan Gordon Webley’s constituency, it seems safe to say, for now, the JLP has won with a landslide victory of 49-14.

We hope to see Dr. Peter Phillips come out and thank his supporters and formally concede.

I am happy I joined the Summer buzz and copped their New fave, Olivia Knot. It accentuated my high bun and I was able to wear a simple top because it uplifted my entire look. At least I felt like it did and that’s what is important ☺️

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally got to revisit Seaside Dutchie over Independence weekend. The Service was even better and faster this time. The Appetizers were just as tasty and the Main was just as delicious. Value for money once again. I keep missing out on their Bread Pudding though!

They should be a must-stop whenever you are in St. Ann for some authentic Jamaican cuisine with their special twist or just some good seafood without a lengthy wait. Kudos to the Chef. TGIF to Jamaica Liquor Warehouse ‘s Frozen Mint Lemonade & their team continuing to play it safe in the kitchen. Jamaica Liquor Warehouse ‘s Signature Frozen Mint Lemonade is quite a refreshing treat for just $500+tx and you can spike it!

Their team is playing it safe in the kitchen too. Kudos to them. I haven’t spied much Chefs wearing masks in the hot kitchen, so please keep it up!

Suga visits Toscanini’s former Chef at PG’s Restaurant & Wine Bar along Tower Isle!

After 20 years of loyal patronage by locals and overseas visitors, Harmony Hall was sold and Toscanini closed.

Toscanini’s Chef, Pierluigi Ricci, nicknamed PG, opened PG’s Restaurant & Wine Bar along Tower Isle in October of last year.

He was happy to find the space, which he continues to make his own. Suga missed out on her trip to Rome this year, but you don’t have to go to Rome to experience the vintage ambience PG has created.

PG’s menu is based on what’s available at sea or is farm to table, accompanied by an extensive Wine List.

The dishes served continue to be high quality, authentic Italian dishes. Their fresh homemade Pasta is one of the best on the island and along with Simos Bread and Catering, so is their Tiramisu.

For Independence Day Weekend two Fridays ago, Suga dined with family, a party of 4. See some of what we enjoyed here!

Pappardelle Promodoro with grilled Shrimp (Shaved parmesan cheese & Tomato sauce)
Fresh catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi.
Tiramisu

We had Escargot Bourguignon, fresh Mozzarella Caprese Salad, Pappardelle Boscaiola (Bacon & fresh mushroom in a cream & tomato sauce), Pappardelle Promodoro with grilled Shrimp (Shaved parmesan cheese & rucola pesto) although they were out of Pesto so I received tomato sauce instead, Smoked Pork Chop in an apple cider sauce that was juicy to the bone and the fresh catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi.

Definitely value for money and worth the drive for Lunch one weekend if coming from Kingston. Pizza nights and rooftop dining may be on the horizon too.
