When leaving or heading into St. Ann, you have to Stop, Eat & ‘lyme’ at Lyming at Walkerswood.

Their Curry Goat is definitely amongst the best you can find on the island. Spicy and tender to di bone! You get a spectacular view too. #SugaEndorsed

Huge, satisfying servings of well seasoned, spicy, flavourful Seafood that is definitely value for money!

After Suga Lifestyle spent last Saturday successfully showcasing a few of our local businesses and entrepreneurs, what better way to celebrate than with an Authentic Jamaican Dinner!

It has been long overdue, but I returned to the Reggae Mill Restaurant last Sunday with hubby, Randy.

Their Jamaican Wings started us off and my only complaint is that we wanted more. Seasoned to perfection with a sauce that was finger lickin’ good.

We missed out on their tender Oxtail, so we both had the Ruddy Ram Goat with Steamed veggies, festival and the available rice and peas. Tasty, truly authentic Jamaican Curried Goat.

As if I didn’t have enough Bread Pudding for the weekend, I couldn’t pass theirs up either. They surely didn’t short us on the Rum in that Rum and Raisin Bread Pudding.

Comfortable setting and decent ambience with staff adhering to Covid-19 protocol. Reggae Mill Restaurant is #SugaEndorsed.

Even though she may not have been there that day, kudos to her guidance and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to Reggae Mill Restaurant’s Executive Chef and Managing Director Orlease King!

Chive Restaurant continues to be #SugaEndorsed. I went with my hubby, Randy two Saturdays ago and it is certainly a pleasure each visit or even when we do takeout.

The flavours of Chive’s dishes set them apart. Their Crab Cake appetizer was divine! They used a curry for it that was not overpowering, so you could enjoy both the Crab meat, accentuated by the curry. Bravo.

The Lobster Tacos were excellent. Great serving too.

Their PESTO is RICH! We enjoyed a delish Pesto Pasta with Grilled Chicken.

Now their Mac & Cheese dishes, where you can choose a topping from Short Ribs to Shrimp is SINFULLY fantastic.

Not to mention their house made Cheesecake! Yummy with the perfect texture 👌🏾 They owe me that Tiramisu that I missed out on! 😉

Safety measures were in place and practiced as we Cope with Covid-19 together. Pay Chive Restaurant a visit or do Takeout! Definitely Value for Money.

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally got to revisit Seaside Dutchie over Independence weekend. The Service was even better and faster this time. The Appetizers were just as tasty and the Main was just as delicious. Value for money once again. I keep missing out on their Bread Pudding though!

TGIF to Jamaica Liquor Warehouse ‘s Frozen Mint Lemonade & their team continuing to play it safe in the kitchen. Jamaica Liquor Warehouse ‘s Signature Frozen Mint Lemonade is quite a refreshing treat for just $500+tx and you can spike it!

Their team is playing it safe in the kitchen too. Kudos to them. I haven’t spied much Chefs wearing masks in the hot kitchen, so please keep it up!

As Covid is even a bigger threat to us now, I encourage you all to try and be as safe as you can this weekend. Wear your masks! Be wise and Sanitise!

Suga visits Toscanini’s former Chef at PG’s Restaurant & Wine Bar along Tower Isle!

After 20 years of loyal patronage by locals and overseas visitors, Harmony Hall was sold and Toscanini closed.

Toscanini’s Chef, Pierluigi Ricci, nicknamed PG, opened PG’s Restaurant & Wine Bar along Tower Isle in October of last year.

He was happy to find the space, which he continues to make his own. Suga missed out on her trip to Rome this year, but you don’t have to go to Rome to experience the vintage ambience PG has created.

PG’s menu is based on what’s available at sea or is farm to table, accompanied by an extensive Wine List.

The dishes served continue to be high quality, authentic Italian dishes. Their fresh homemade Pasta is one of the best on the island and along with Simos Bread and Catering, so is their Tiramisu.

For Independence Day Weekend two Fridays ago, Suga dined with family, a party of 4. See some of what we enjoyed here!

Pappardelle Promodoro with grilled Shrimp (Shaved parmesan cheese & Tomato sauce)
Fresh catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi.
Tiramisu

We had Escargot Bourguignon, fresh Mozzarella Caprese Salad, Pappardelle Boscaiola (Bacon & fresh mushroom in a cream & tomato sauce), Pappardelle Promodoro with grilled Shrimp (Shaved parmesan cheese & rucola pesto) although they were out of Pesto so I received tomato sauce instead, Smoked Pork Chop in an apple cider sauce that was juicy to the bone and the fresh catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi.

Definitely value for money and worth the drive for Lunch one weekend if coming from Kingston. Pizza nights and rooftop dining may be on the horizon too.

Suga Hits North Coast Restaurants for Independence Weekend!

It was so refreshing to leave town last Independence weekend and Restaurant hop!

Of course, with so many culinary gems on the north coast, I didn’t get to go everywhere I wanted to go, but definitely made a few stops worth mentioning.

First stop for Lunch last Friday, Evita’s Italian Restaurant!

Attentive staff with face shields, great, timely service, tasty dishes and a picturesque view.

We enjoyed Grilled Octopus, Smoked Marlin, Curried Shrimp and Chicken Breast and Chicken Breast Tortellini.

Grilled Marinated Octopus served with a fresh tomato and olive salsa (USD$8.50)
Smoked Marlin ‘Carpaccio’ sliced thin, topped with capers and marinated onion rings (USD$7.50)
Ja Curry ‘Supreme’ – Shrimp and Chicken Breast in Curry Mango-Chutney, white wine sauce (USD$16.50)

I concluded lunch with their Tiramisu. I was wondering why they didn’t dust the top of my Tiramisu with cocoa powder though.

Nirvanna Indian Fusion Cuisine has opened Masala Wok, its more laid-back, casual, NEW SPOT for Indian & Chinese Cuisine in Super Valu Constant Spring!

It’s a decent spot for family and friends to dine. A few teething pains with service, but pleasant, attentive staff, great, modern décor and tasty food!

Tired of Cooking? GCG Events is navigating their way out of Covid 19 with ReadiGourmet, offering you their Gourmet, restaurant quality meals for Lunch or Dinner, at home or the office! They will be sharing the full Menu and prices soon, but Suga can give you a sneak peek from my taster.

You can start things off with their delish Caesar Salad with Shrimp, topped with Croutons and Parmesan Cheese that will be available in various sizes, 8 oz, 12 oz and 24 oz.

Parmesan cheese is one of my faves and healthier. I really appreciated having it in my salad versus a fatty, cliché cheddar. Of course, if you want to go completely healthy, you can have Jerked Chicken instead of the shrimps, which are high in cholesterol. Other options for Salads will also be available.

I then had Grilled Chicken Breast topped with a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce served with rice and peas and fresh sauteed garden vegetables.

They did well with the Chicken breast. It wasn’t dry, even when reheated in the oven following their given instructions. It was well seasoned and flavourful with the sauce. Other side options such as mashed potato, white rice, black bean rice and almond rice should be available.

Grilled Filet of Salmon, Pan seared Snapper Filet, Beef Filet, Sandwiches and Dessert Options will be available too!

I finished things off with some of their tasty Fresh Fruit Salad.
