It’s Been a while Suga Fam, but we Continue to Smile through the Struggles

We had a lot of New, exciting events in store, but God had a different plan. We are navigating and have shifted our efforts to assist with the recovery process Post Melissa as much as possible. Our high quality Artisan pool is about 300 deep and many of us have been affected or family members have been affected. The effects of Hurricane Melissa have taken a toll on a lot of us mentally, especially if we made it through OK because it hurts us to see that many have not.

Some of us also feel helpless because it was already a rough year. Now opportunities for the Creative Industry to earn have been put on pause, raw materials have been damaged or access to raw materials are now non-existent or delayed. We are 1 Community and we will continue to help each other out of this difficult time. Even if it’s to provide access or information on resources, everything counts.

More information will come via this medium on what’s not next or still to come on the Calendar with Suga Lifestyle. But We Shall Rise again.

It’s been a busy few days, please pace yourselves and take breaks. Yesterday we assisted Barcode (Ig: @BARCODEJAMAICA) with packaging self care items. We did ~300 packages but they are on a road to 1000 and should be heading to Westmoreland today. More items are needed. Please drop off if and when you can. We know everyone has been making various contributions already via various avenues. This will be a continuous effort for our nation. Do what YOU can and be satisfied with that. Do not become overwhelmed. If you can’t help with this one, Share it, maybe someone else CAN.

Monetary Donations for Hurricane Relief can be made safely to http://www.foodforthepoorja.org  and http://www.afj.org.

TGIF! Brunch at Broken Plate Continues to be #SugaEndorsed

Not sure why us Girls keep taking so long to return to Broken Plate (Ig: @brokenplateja), but Suga is definitely heading back there soon.

Watch highlights here!

https://www.instagram.com/p/DP6GkOFDXO4/?igsh=aWhkOXhrYnJkeTVs

We made reservations last Sunday for 11:15AM (Although Suga got there closer to Noon :)).
I joined my ladies when they were finishing their Appetizers…Calamari, no surprise there.

I had given them my order already, so it would arrive with theirs. I was thankful for the healthy options that Broken Plate continue to provide. Fulljoyed My stacked plate of Octopus Avocado Toast made with Coconut Avocado Bread as the base. It was so moist and wholesome! The Short Rib and Steak and Egg Sandwiches didn’t look filling, but the Southern Chicken & Waffle was another winner.

Did you see that Matcha Cake?! Yum!

It was an unusual day for The Bartender to be on his own, but our drinks arrived in adequate time and thankfully we left just as Brunch became Buzzier closer to 2pm. I only ask that light music be played in the background.

The staff was attentive throughout, kept us updated on our orders and we had a great afternoon catching up with each other, leaving satisfied.

A New Brunch menu is offered each week. Love that. RSVP ONLY.

When last have you gone on a date, gone for brunch, lunch or dinner at Broken Plate? Make your Reservations and get to it!

Enjoy CPJ Beverages’ Chandon Welcome and cool off.
Perk up with the best Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and prepare to survive the day with your hit list from the menu…or not. There will be so much to enjoy! Sip, Taste, Eat, refresh and rock to the beats of DJ Courtney.
Snap your pics by the Iconic Strawberry Hill views.

I chose right, enjoying practically everything on my hit list and added a taste of tender Curried Goat & Plantain salad.

The Mediterranean diet was voted the best diet by U.S. News & World Report for the 8th consecutive year in 2025 and I absolutely appreciated the fusion and options with our good ol’ Jamaican Cuisine.

2nds? The Jackfruit Greek Salad and of course the Oxtail Lasagna, because it slap weh fi true ! Topped off by a sweet ending of Chef Lumley’s Coffee Crème Brûlée.

Without a doubt #SugaEndorsed. Kudos to Chef Lumley and his team, Strawberry Hill and CPJ Beverages. We need more Culinary experiences like these.

What are you waiting on?! Make your Reservations!

#tbt to Connecting with Authors, Trauma & Business Coaches & a Lawyer!

Last Thursday’s Corporate Mingle One Park Restaurant and Lounge by 1 Park Close close to NHT, was definitely about Connections, Community and Collaborations. Mingle Moments always Matter!

I met so many intriguing, optimistic individuals with Bright energies. This particular conversation held me for probably half an hour. I am also happy I was able to keep these Queens engaged, since two of them were apprehensive about coming out and being brave enough to network. This is what it’s all about! Cheers to them and everyone else who came out before the holiday weekend. Thank you!

A Cultural Exchange with Bentley University via Branson Centre Caribbean + an Insightful Session from TAJ & HEART!

Branson Centre Caribbean’s Clare Bailey and Lauri-Ann Ainsworth called me to share our Culture & Marketing practices and I answered. So did fellow Suga Artisans and Local Entrepreneurs By Saffron Safari, Ezy Ad Management and Den Arthur Jamaica.

We had a Session Overview of
“Brand Jamaica in Action: Marketing through Culture, Innovation & Collaboration”

This immersive, interactive session was part of Bentley University’s Jamaican Journeys program. We offered their marketing students firsthand insight into Jamaica’s vibrant cultural and entrepreneurial landscape. The discussion explored how culture informs global brand identity and the storytelling behind Jamaican brands that resonate both locally and internationally.

Brand Jamaica to di World!

#tbt to an Insightful Session from TAJ & HEART’s Revenue Services Department

Thankful for the HEART NSTA Trust for the insightful Professional Development Session they hosted last Wednesday at their Apprenticeship/MSME Unit by Rockfort!

Ms. Allen from TAJ was so full of knowledge that she imparted on us well, in addition to HEART’s Revenue Services Department. Suga Lifestyle and other MSMEs including Suga Artisan, Ayuhthat and more, left empowered with knowledge on tax, revenue management and business structure.

We understood that TAJ has started to go into the primary schools. However, we hope they lobby successfully for it to be a general course for all in the secondary school system, not just for persons doing Accounts/Principles of Business.

This Evening!

Come along even if you did not get the chance to RSVP. RSVPing adds you to our database and gives you name tags.

Hope to See you later!

A great Networking and Motivating Opportunity.
