Two versions of GW Art’s ‘Elephant in the Room’ (Acrylic on Canvas) adding life to the walls of a home.
One elephant was not enough for GW Art’s client who is absolutely fond of elephants. The original and more vibrant, ‘Elephant in the room’ was supersized to balance the earth-toned version that was done for the Christmas 2018 Collection and they make a fantastic pair.

Non-profit organization, New Kingston Rotaract Club (Youth arm of Rotary) is having their annual Wing Sauce Competition this Saturday, March 30th by the Mona Dam. Like last year, they are having a Farmer’s Market too, encouraging us to eat healthy and buy our local produce, while contributing to charity at the same time. It’s a win-win for everyone.
Judging and sampling usually takes place at about 2:30/3:00pm. Suga will be judging again!
Then you can head down to the National Stadium to watch our very own young athletes put on quite a show at Champs! The writing is on the wall for the Girls with Edwin Allen, but for the Boys, will KC beat Calabar this year as they seem to be in position to do, or did they peak too early in the season?
Keep up with Suga Lifestyle’s Facebook and Instagram Page to keep updated with Champs and keep up with the New Kingston Rotaract Club by following them on Instagram @nkrcjamaica. If you are between the ages of 18-30, see how you can join them!

It is comprised of young professionals committed to the commonality of improving inner-city communities and creating opportunities for promising individuals within the Kingston Metropolitan Area. Last week was World Rotaract Week. Every year, Rotaractors and Rotarians around the world celebrate World Rotaract Week with various activities during the week of 13 March to commemorate the founding of the first club in 1968. It was a time for celebrating the success and importance of the Rotaract programme.
Last Thursday, March 14th, the Rotaract Club of St. Andrew donated Professional Wear to Dress for Success Jamaica as a part of their World Rotaract Week celebration.
Dress for Success Jamaica is also a non-profit organization. They empower women by providing them with work attire, training and support so that they can achieve economic independence.
Kudos to both organizations on the charitable work they continue to do to help build a better Jamaica. For more information or to become a part of these organizations, please see their information below.

Mike’s Supper Club at The Trident Hotel had spectacular service and ambience enhanced by rhythmic live jazz, where the band used Trident’s one of a kind Ferrari red 1917 Steinway baby grand piano. Some of the best voices in world, jazz and bop music have left their nightly signature on it.
Beverages were grand, but I can’t say the same about their dishes.
We started things off with Pumpkin Soup and a Goat Cheese Salad. The Pumpkin Soup was probably the largest dish of the night.
Pumpkin Soup with coconut, lemongrass and spiced chicken (US$12 +G.C.T +Serv. charge)Fresh Greens and Goat Cheese Salad – Fried Cheese, Pickled Onion, Red Grapes, charred Pepper and Red Radish (US$15 +G.C.T +Serv. charge)
The Goat Cheese Salad was quite tasty and flavourful, but our entrees followed and disappointed in that aspect and more. We had the Rack of Lamb and Surf n Turf. Both dishes were extremely small servings. In addition to an already exorbitant cost of US$50 for the Surf and Turf, sides of Vegetables and Starches were additional for US$3 and $US6 respectively before tax and service charge.
Rack of Lamb – Pistachio crust, Wine Tamarind Jus, roasted Vegetable and Butternut Puree (US$32 +G.C.T +Serv. charge)Surf n Turf – Angus Beef Fillet, seared Shrimps, roasted Seaweed and smoked Pepper Coulis (US$50 +G.CT +Serv. charge)
To add to the disappointment of small servings, even though our meats were medium rare as requested, the Lamb and Beef lacked proper seasoning and flavour.
The food may not have been value for money, but it was certainly a pleasurable experience.
