GCG Events Launches ReadiGourmet, their Gourmet Meals for Lunch or Dinner Delivered to You!

Tired of Cooking? GCG Events is navigating their way out of Covid 19 with ReadiGourmet, offering you their Gourmet, restaurant quality meals for Lunch or Dinner, at home or the office! They will be sharing the full Menu and prices soon, but Suga can give you a sneak peek from my taster.

You can start things off with their delish Caesar Salad with Shrimp, topped with Croutons and Parmesan Cheese that will be available in various sizes, 8 oz, 12 oz and 24 oz.

Parmesan cheese is one of my faves and healthier. I really appreciated having it in my salad versus a fatty, cliché cheddar. Of course, if you want to go completely healthy, you can have Jerked Chicken instead of the shrimps, which are high in cholesterol. Other options for Salads will also be available.

I then had Grilled Chicken Breast topped with a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce served with rice and peas and fresh sauteed garden vegetables.

They did well with the Chicken breast. It wasn’t dry, even when reheated in the oven following their given instructions. It was well seasoned and flavourful with the sauce. Other side options such as mashed potato, white rice, black bean rice and almond rice should be available.

Grilled Filet of Salmon, Pan seared Snapper Filet, Beef Filet, Sandwiches and Dessert Options will be available too!

I finished things off with some of their tasty Fresh Fruit Salad.

Mystic Thai, the restaurant with the Best Ethnic cuisine in Jamaica located in Montego Bay, came to Kingston again last Friday with Suga’s Birthday Gift!

Owner, Mrs. Kareena Mahbubani who usually has such a warm and regal presence in the Restaurant makes me feel at home whenever I visit and mentioned she feels happy when I am happy. Kareena believes in and delivers consistently high quality customer service, sees value in her customers and I truly felt honoured and appreciated. Thanks Kareena! #SugaSnaps

Hubby, Randy and I thoroughly enjoyed two dishes that we wouldn’t readily select fron the menu. It just shows that everything is good! With a mixture of Asian and Thai cuisine, Mystic Thai has quite a diverse menu.

We had Panang Fish Curry Thai, where the Panang curry is thick and peanut based, giving the Fish a unique, rich, authentic flavour.

We also had Dal Tadka (Lentil) from their Indian menu. It was fantastic! Full of flavour. We enjoyed both dishes with Jasmine rice and my favourite side, Garlic naan.

I had to make a stop Jamaica Liquor Warehouse for a little Birthday treat. Thank you! 💖

I had their house faves, the Loaded Fries w/ Tomatoes, Onions & Cheese ($1000JMD+tx), Waffles w/ Crispy Chicken & spicy Maple Syrup ($1500JMD+tx) – one of the Best around town and their Frozen Mint Lemonade ($500JMD+tx).

The Best ‘Likkle’ Reminders to Carry Around

Suga’s car keyrings had fallen apart around the time of her Birthday and a new, unique one was needed. I checked a few stores, including Fontana at first, but still couldn’t find anything that reflected who I was or would motivate me each day. I then stumbled upon ‘@likkle.tingz.matta’ on instagram via another local artisan’s page. I was like, ‘Perfect! Look at that, there is a small, local Jamaican company that customizes the cutest, little keyrings’.

I contacted owner, Shenora Graham who operates from St. Mary and she responded right away. We had a discussion about customizing the keyring that would be right for me and there were a few hiccups along the way, but the end result was Shenora doing her best to ensure that I was extremely happy and thankful for carrying around with me everyday, the ‘Likkle Tings Dat Matta’. Two of my favourite quotes, ‘Do what you love, Love what you do’ and ‘Find Joy in the Journey. She had quite a selection to choose from, along with your choice of tassels and a colour schemed portion to put whatever you want. It was affordable too! Just $1700JMD including delivery to Kingston by Jamaica Post’s Zip Mail. Note that it is hassle-free and less expensive to pick up your mail by The Liguanea Post Office Mall Suga Bears.

Suga’s Breakdown!

Waterfalls Catering, known for hosting weddings and other functions is now serving Lunch!

I was happy to hear I could call in my order and pick up my lunch from a central, convenient location.

They were pleasant and accommodating over the phone and my lunch was boxed and waiting for me when I went to pick up.

Their lunches go for a reasonable cost of $750JMD with a sufficient serving, giving value for money. Soup is about $200JMD for a Small cup and $500JMD for Large.

Guess what?! Their menu is posted online too! More restaurants need to do that. It IS 2020. You have the option of ordering online as well for pick up or delivery.

Their menu is a short list, but with the standard meat options to choose quickly and easily from.

I ordered the Jerked Chicken (asked for no gravy) with steamed vegetables and rice and peas. Quite a decent, tasty meal. Great picker-upper.
