The Perfect Start to Spring with Venezuelan Cuisine at EITS Cafe, Irish Town!

The Menu kept signature dishes of EITS as options such as the Barrel Roasted Chicken, Curry Goat and their Ackee & Callaloo with fried Sweet Plantain made a Specialty Arepa! They did notttt disappoint, although I prefer my Curry Goat to be spicier.

The shredded Beef Specialty Arepa was wholesome and amazing!

We enjoyed all courses from start to finish, even if there were waits between, actually necessary to make room for more! I felt like I could have been happily rolled off the hill afterwards.

The Quesilla (Venezuelan Flan) was similar in taste to a Panna Cotta and the hints of Jamaican Rum in the sauce was delish.

A refreshing day in spring and a perfect reset for the week ahead.

*Reservations Recommended* They are closed this weekend for Light Renovations.

It’s Like Our Very Own Chipotle, It’s Chop’d!

It’s like our very own Chipotle, it’s Chop’d (Ig:@chopdja)!

We finally got another Healthy, Fast-Food option that we need! Centrally located in Loshusan, Barbican, you can do a quick pick up or sit down to have a bite and take a break from your busy day.

I’ve been during and after the busy lunch hour. I’m happy to say that their team is working faster and you get your options in good time. There are soooo many options!

Check out Suga’s Highlights here!

Ideally you should get a quick breakdown according to your fave, but until then, you can do your own. What are you feeling for? What do you prefer? Salad, Bowl, Sandwich or Wrap? Then take it from there! First timers can take a glance at the Menu board for full descriptions, then grab a card to tick off your order. Remember you are NOT at Dim Sum, it adds up!

Suga has been loving Bowls recently. The Baja Bowl (J$1900) is my fave so far with a Grain blend base, cilantro lime cream, black beans, corn, pickled pineapple, sweet peppers, fresh tomato salsa, cilantro & avocado when in available/in season OR you are free to choose chopped apples etc. Loveeee that you can add hard boiled Egg (J$200/$380) & the other Protein Add-Ons are pretty good too such as Chop’d Herb Chicken (J$450/$855), Flaked Salmon (J$650/$1235) or Beef Filet ($750/$1425)…2-oz is still fulfilling.

Sandwich person? Chicken Salad Sammy with Cran-Apple Pecan (J$1700).

Wraps your thing? The Honey Mustard Salmon BLT (J$2100) is flavourful & fantastic.

Of course there are Salad Lovers here…so many options, you can build your own (J$1450 w/ 4 essentials + your Add ons).
Conservatively, it can take you J$2500 without meat & J$3000 with meat.

Top things off with refreshing Iced Tea laced with the berry & flavour of choice for the day.

Great Food Quality. Love the Transparency of the Prep Process and to see that everything is kept as fresh as possible.

Having guests over and need to grab some tasty Bites, dips, sauces, Charcuterie options, Chocolate + a side of bubbly, you name it, they got it. They have the cutest market products. Most importantly, supporting Brand Jamaica too.

Even if it’s not your Economical Everyday Stop, treat yourself at Chop’d!

Have a Healthy Day!

TGIF! Lose Touch of Reality and See Where the Food Needed No Filter

In case you didn’t know, one of our favourite Restaurant and Bar spots in Kingston 8 is back! The New Cellar 8 Wine. Bar.Bistro (Ig: @cellar8kgn) in Upper Manor Park Plaza has reopened for a bit over a month now. Happy to revisit one of my old faves last Sunday, not much has changed and that’s a good thing. Though we will share a love letter re the table setting, the Décor was spruced up a bit, still modern with a balance of black and white and pops of colour. I always loved the flooring and there’s still a touch of wooden furnishing to give an ounce of Vintage Cellar.

Yashema was our courteous server. She took care of us well and was excited to share that our Dessert’s cream wasn’t as calorific because, fun fact: It was Yam Cream! Who would have thought?!

As I sipped my Manhattan, we enjoyed,

– Jerk Beef Kofta – Well seasoned, Flavourful
– Caesar Caprese – Delish! Especially for a Salad
– Petite Fillet (Temp – MR) – Perfection
– Pan Seared Lamb Farci (Temp-MR)- Perfection
– Bread Pudding with Yellow Yam Cream!
I still love my Bread Pudding fluffier with a crumble on top, but this was uniquely tasteful

Would love to people-watch more Diners though, so head to The New Cellar 8 and check it out! Their Menu is online. Looking forward to returning and having the Sweet Potato Crusted Salmon and I would love them to consider putting their NYE Special of Ribeye Steak on the menu for the Steak Lovers.

Have a Great Weekend!
