Happy Hump Day! What’s for Lunch Today?

Teriyaki Time (Ig: @teriyakitimeja) certainly delivers and hits the spot!

Had the Teriyaki Chicken a few weeks ago. It was delish! Love the light Sauce on it.
Their steamed Japanese-style dumplings are spicy too!

Check out Teriyaki Time today!

From Pick Up Spot, Now Dining, Koi Sushi is Stepping it Up

Tiffany Simmonds, Gabrielle Burgess a.k.a Suga of Suga Lifestyle, Kimario Rose-Stewart and Gillian Jackson at Koi Sushi Restaurant on Hillcrest Avenue last Saturday night.

Here I am again, GNO, Whiskey Sour in hand, don’t forget my cherry.

Happy to dine at an authentic Sushi spot in Kingston other than East/ Majestic. As Koi Sushi Restaurant (@koisushija) is currently ironing out a few details in their upgrade from a pick up spot to a dining restaurant, they definitely have the potential to occupy the space above Fromage on Hillcrest Avenue a bit longer than Oak Wine Bar.

Highlights:
• Kabuki: double fried shrimp roll

• Volcano: Kanikama (crab stick), masago & cooked white fish roll (An eruption of flavours!)

• Kai Poke Bowl + Sake: Tuna, Salmon, Kani crab, edamame + more

We appreciated our server, Jerome’s hospitality despite us girls giving him pokes of trouble here and there. Pun intended. He was quite attentive, ensuring we left satisfied.

Dessert was not available from Koi Sushi’s tempting menu to try as yet, but we could order dessert from Fromage that always has salivating options. Their Tiramisu was a hit with one of the Girls.

Suga will definitely revisit and I am looking forward to Dessert worth the calories after some authentic Sushi paired with their Sake that I also enjoyed.

#tbt to Oceano Jamaica!

Believe it or not, Suga has not gone to Oceano Jamaica (Ig: @oceanojamaica) since it opened in Marketplace based on its reviews. Then the reviews became more balanced, so I started to consider visiting.

A few Saturdays ago, us girls needed a convenient spot to catch up and I felt for Japanese, so why not?

We selected Rolls that seemed exciting from the menu like the Surf n’ Turf and Peppa Shrimp Rolls.

We also had the Pimento Teriyaki Ribs and the other two items slipped me.

Presentation was fabulous, but the Rolls lacked the anticipated pop of flavours or spice.

No cherries for my Whisky Sour either. ? That’s a must for me.

Anyhow, it was all great to satisfy our appetites. That is all. There isn’t much to say about their standard of service received either.

It’s still Majestic and East Japanese for me. I am yet to try Koi Sushi, which I’ve heard good things about.
