With a quick road trip out of town to Montego Bay last Saturday for business, Mustic Thai (Ig: @mystic_thai_jamaica) was a must stop for me and hubby, Randy.
We didn’t order from their regular menu as their Restaurant week menu was tempting enough and we wanted to participate.
Staff were courteous and Service was smooth as usual.
Randy started off with the marinated shallow fried Shrimp tossed in Basil Chilli Garlic sauce. The Shrimps were plump, tasty, with a tempered heat balanced out with herbs.
I enjoyed the juicy, tender, spicy honey glazed Pork belly Skewers.
Our Mains were the usual authentic Asian and satisfying high quality dishes enhanced by their Curry and Sauce.
I had the steamed Fish Fillet with quinoa and a yellow curry instead of the lemon chilli cilantro sauce and Randy had the Five Spice Chicken with spicy plum sauce, greens and spicy, Thai herbed fried rice.
Dessert was pleasantly interesting. Cinnamon flavoured Grilled Pineapple with homemade Coconut & Jaggery Ice Cream. Delish! #SugaSnaps
Opening a Restaurant in Kingston is always a challenge, but no matter the delay, whenever it happens, we are ready. Cheers to a consistently high standard of service, ethnic cuisine and comfort. #SugaEndorsed

Kamila’s Kitchen has been in the works for some time now, but officially opened in April of this year, with Kamila McDonald picking up where her parents left off, taking full advantage of the fact that Vegetarian and Vegan Food is now trending.
There IS a McDonald Farm, but not an old one. 🙂 It’s growing with the Kitchen and meals are Farm to Fork.
This was great news for me because whenever I wanted to detox, no meat & no sweet for a week, but also avoid tasteless Vegetarian, I could order meals from Kamila’s Kitchen to be delivered to my doorstep. Delicious, flavourful, V-Ital, filling food. My fave? The Trinity Glow bowl with Sesame-Cauliflower, BBQ Veggie Bounce, Roasted chickpeas on a bed of mixed greens with Quinoa. Yum!
Kamila’s fave is the new loaded Nachos. Eye-catching and spicy! Jalapeños with Walnut Meat and more?! I can’t believe it’s not Beef!
The crowd faves? Everything, but the Black and Boasie Burger with airfried breadfruit chips is always a hit, the Jerkshroom Wrap and of course the new loaded Nachos.
A bit over a month ago, Suga Taster, Tennyson and I headed up to Skyline Levels and had a full, conscience free spread including Skyline Sushi (I can’t believe it’s not Eel!) topped off with ‘Cheesecake’. They make their own cheese too. #SugaSnaps
Have Kamila’s Kitchen excite you with food, flavours, textures and sauces that are homemade, farm to fork and in line with what your body needs!
Water is life, but Natural juices are also available and our good ol’ Jamaican Beers.
Kamila’s Kitchen is sure to be on the map soon for every backpacker and our own locals to escape to a different side of the Hills, greeted with tables adorned with fabrics from Tanzania. Chase the sunset and embrace captivating views.
Check out Thank Jah It’s Friday from 4PM – 10:30PM for a cool, chilly night under the stars and live Music on some of their Saturday nights.
V-Ital Food, Good Music and Good Vibes. Jamaica is not a real place. It’s an Experience. Head to Kamila’s Kitchen at Skyline Levels where you can eat healthy and guilt free, living a rough life easy. Balance and Levels! Kamila’s Kitchen is #SugaEndorsed.

Here I am again, GNO, Whiskey Sour in hand, don’t forget my cherry.
Happy to dine at an authentic Sushi spot in Kingston other than East/ Majestic. As Koi Sushi Restaurant (@koisushija) is currently ironing out a few details in their upgrade from a pick up spot to a dining restaurant, they definitely have the potential to occupy the space above Fromage on Hillcrest Avenue a bit longer than Oak Wine Bar.
Highlights: • Kabuki: double fried shrimp roll
• Volcano: Kanikama (crab stick), masago & cooked white fish roll (An eruption of flavours!)
• Kai Poke Bowl + Sake: Tuna, Salmon, Kani crab, edamame + more
We appreciated our server, Jerome’s hospitality despite us girls giving him pokes of trouble here and there. Pun intended. He was quite attentive, ensuring we left satisfied.
Dessert was not available from Koi Sushi’s tempting menu to try as yet, but we could order dessert from Fromage that always has salivating options. Their Tiramisu was a hit with one of the Girls.
Suga will definitely revisit and I am looking forward to Dessert worth the calories after some authentic Sushi paired with their Sake that I also enjoyed.

I know I took a while to visit this one Suga fam, but from Suga Taster reports, I wasn’t quite pulled in yet.
I visited on a GNO mid August. We had the Tacbar Platter (any 8 tacos for J$3950). We chose the Ahi Tuna, Oxtail, Shrimp and Lobster Tacos.
The Ahi Tuna Taco needed a tasty, spicy balsamic vinaigrette.
I’m not sure why crushed chips were in the Oxtail Taco, but it was an unwelcomed crunch for me, not a hit. Like most folks, I prefer my Oxtail tender and boneless without that texture.
The Shrimp Taco was bland without the lime they provided with it. So definitely added that splash of lime.
The Lobster Taco was the best selection for us, but why put crumbled feta in it to overpower the Lobster? The taste of Lobster can be easily overpowered and feta is known for it’s sharp, pungent taste.
Anyhow, I love Chef Haleem Card’s food, but I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps they may have been a bit overwhelmed in the kitchen by the fact that it was Heineken’s Bar hopping series night. But kudos to them for still keeping a high quality of service by the restaurant. Those ladies were awesome and the music and vibes were fantastic.
It’s still Chilitos for me for authentic Mexican, but I will revisit.
Have a great weekend!
