#fbf to Brunching at Bellefield Great House! A Hidden Gem.

Gabrielle and Randolph Burgess, Owners and Suga Tasters for Suga Lifestyle

A hidden gem for Kingstonians that is!
To Montegonians and as stated by Bellefield, it’s the place where Award winning Chef Robbie Joseph has created an exquisite menu featuring classic international dishes alongside traditional Jamaican cuisine to satisfy every palette.

Bellefield Great House and Gardens, Fairfield Road, Montego Bay

Hubby and I brunched at Bellefield Great House and Gardens on Fairfield Road, Montego Bay a bit over a month ago in June, to close out my Birthday weekend.

Bellefield’s (Ig: @bellefield876) All You Can Eat Brunch Buffet is from 11am to 3pm. We arrived closer to 3pm, thinking we would get the ‘what lef’ or perhaps get the choice to order from the regular menu.
That wasn’t the case at all. We were greeted and invited to Brunch, as you could only order from the regular menu from 4pm onwards.

The place was buzzing with activity with families and friends celebrating birthdays amongst one another. The live cooking Pasta and Pancake stations were still in action. Fresh food was still being brought out to  replenish any empty chafers and freshly made beverages were available from a few dispensers.

You could pick, choose and refuse from what was on offer. The typical Jamaican or American breakfast, in addition to the lunch options we all love. Curry Goat, Potato Salad, Escovitch Fish, Roast Beef and more!

The food was on point! Absolutely flavourful and delicious. Succulent cuts of Beef, soft Plantain mmm! We were impressed.

If you love sweet, Dessert options were endless as well. Quite a variety of basic desserts, nothing gourmet, but well presented and they would definitely hit your sweet spot.

The Bar was downstairs if you wished to order any drinks that weren’t readily available with the Brunch offerings.

All You Can Eat surrounded by a picturesque historic Great House and lush Gardens J$3750 (incl. Tx) each ?! Amazing and #SugaEndorsed.

Brunch is this and every Sunday at Bellefield Great House from 11am – 3pm and you can make reservations. Go check it out!

Suga’s Breakdown:

Lovers Leap has a breezy, breathtaking view of Jamaica’s southern coast stretching from Rocky Point, Clarendon in the east to Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth in the west. It is truly the best view in Jamaica for Suga. I didn’t want to leave.

The restaurant by Lovers Leap is definitely another local hotspot in St. Elizabeth. The menu pleases the local crowd with favourites such as Fish Tea and Fritters to start with, followed by choices of Oxtail, Curried Goat, Fish any way you like it, with sides of festival, bammy and/or rice and peas.

The food was being served by buffet that Easter Sunday. I’m not sure if it was because it was a holiday, but we had to tell the server when to stop! Food was in abundance and it was juicy and tender to the bone. Real Jamaican style.

The story behind Lovers Leap

Statues of Mizzy and Tunkey outside of the Restaurant with a plaque stating, ‘Mizzy & Tunkey Together Forever’.

If you don’t remember the Legend of Lovers Leap, here you go!

Yardley Chase Plantation owner, Richard Chardley was in love with his housekeeper, Mizzy, but she was in love with another enslaved African, Tunkey from a neighbouring Plantation. Chardley was aware of this and planned to sell Tunkey to have Mizzy all for himself.

Mizzy and Tunkey decided to try and escape, but were chased to this site by the sea cliffs. In a final embrace, the lovers leapt to their death.
