Suga Taster, Randy had Rainforest Seafoods’ NEW Poke Bowl for Lunch!

20200712_213643

Last Tuesday, Suga Taster, Randy Burgess ordered Rainforest Seafoods’ NEW Tuna Poke Bowl for Lunch. He thought it was definitely filling, as it had a healthy serving of Veggies: carrot, cucumber, radish, snow peas and Edamame. Additionally, it had a good serving size of Tuna and sticky Sushi Rice. The Tuna was spicy since it was drizzled with Sriracha sauce, but the Veggies cooled down the palate and everything was fresh!

20200712_213714

Was it Value for Money?

Randy thought the cost was way too much with delivery, but tasted good. By ordering through the Pekkish App, the Tuna Poke Bowl costed $1960JMD, but $2754.00JMD when delivery and service charges were added.

Any Suggestions for Rainforest Seafoods?

Suga Taster, Randy would love to see a Salad option with no rice and an option to pick up at the Crossroads branch.

Rainforest Seafoods also offers Smoked and Cooked Salmon Poke Bowls, Raw and Cooked Rolls, Sushi Platters and Bento Boxes (Japanese Lunch Boxes)  exclusively through Pekkish Jamaica in Kingston for delivery and in Montego Bay at the Seafood Market, which offers Free Delivery.

Nourish and Hydrate your Skin with True and Natural Soaps Made in Jamaica!

IMG-20200706-WA0007

True and Natural Soaps actually started in Trinidad by Jamaica’s own Business man, Peter Bovell about 3 and a half years ago. Why Trinidad? Simple. He moved there after he married a ‘Trini’ he met at Carnival.

With his Computer business slowing down and believing that our daily routine of bathing should be an enjoyable one, he began his research. He got the Coconut Growers Association Factory to produce it and one of Trinidad’s largest, West Indies Traders Ltd., to distribute it. The soaps were marketed on social media and took over the market with their organic nature, made from locally sourced ingredients.

When did True and Natural Soaps come to Jamaica? May/June 2019

True and Natural Soaps have No Harsh Additives. No Chemicals, No Colourants or Harmful Dyes, No Animal Fats.

True and Natural Soaps have Anti-Inflammatory, Antibacterial, Anti-Ageing and Antioxidant Benefits. They are also known to treat Acne and Eczema.

Suga had the pleasure of speaking with True and Natural Company’s Client Relations Manager, Tara Shoucair and here is a bit of what I learnt!

What is the standard price range for a bar of Soap? $200JMD for a single and $400JMD for a two pack on average.

How do they manage to make it so affordable? Their products are made with natural ingredients that are locally sourced. So they don’t need to purchase or source foreign materials.

Do they only manufacture Soaps or do they produce any other Personal Care products? For now just soaps, but looking to expanding to other products in the near future.

Suga read in an ‘Express Business’ publication that Expanding the line to Body Washes and other similar products may be in the future.

Are there any new scents or ingredient combinations on the horizon? There are many new scents available, but it is unknown at the moment which will make their way here.
At this time in Jamaica, we have:
Turmeric Citrus, Turmeric Aloe, Turmeric Ginger, creamy Coconut, Coffee Cocoa, Moringa and Coconut Charcoal.

20200709_072138

Which other islands can you find True and Natural Soap? They are not yet exporting from Jamaica. However, the soaps are also produced in Trinidad and can be found in Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tobago and St. Lucia.

What are popular Stores/Supermarkets that you can find True and Natural Soaps? A Full list of locations are on their website (See below). They are a lot! You should be able to find them in a store near you islandwide.

Which is Tara’s favourite soap and why? She loves the Coffee Cocoa for its smell and exfoliating properties.

20200709_072121

Which Soap is the best seller in Jamaica? Jamaicans love the Turmeric variants and also the Coconut gets a lot of praise for it’s cool and refreshing feeling.

Which Soaps have Suga used?

20200709_072511

I have used the Turmeric and Ginger, which has a fantastic scent, the Coffee Cocoa that exfoliates so well and the Coconut Charcoal, which my husband also uses. It provides the perfect cleanse and detox for your skin.

IMG-20200706-WA0006

All leave you feeling quite refreshed! I also can’t wait to try their creamy Coconut!

True and Naturals is in every big Supermarket and Pharmacy. Visit their Instagram Page (@trueandnaturalcompany) to learn about the soaps and the properties and benefits of each one.

Go and get yours today! #SugaEndorsed

GCG Events Launches ReadiGourmet, their Gourmet Meals for Lunch or Dinner Delivered to You!

20200701_070207

Tired of Cooking? GCG Events is navigating their way out of Covid 19 with ReadiGourmet, offering you their Gourmet, restaurant quality meals for Lunch or Dinner, at home or the office! They will be sharing the full Menu and prices soon, but Suga can give you a sneak peek from my taster.

You can start things off with their delish Caesar Salad with Shrimp, topped with Croutons and Parmesan Cheese that will be available in various sizes, 8 oz, 12 oz and 24 oz.

IMG-20200626-WA0023

Parmesan cheese is one of my faves and healthier. I really appreciated having it in my salad versus a fatty, cliché cheddar. Of course, if you want to go completely healthy, you can have Jerked Chicken instead of the shrimps, which are high in cholesterol. Other options for Salads will also be available.

20200628_194405

I then had Grilled Chicken Breast topped with a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce served with rice and peas and fresh sauteed garden vegetables.

They did well with the Chicken breast. It wasn’t dry, even when reheated in the oven following their given instructions. It was well seasoned and flavourful with the sauce. Other side options such as mashed potato, white rice, black bean rice and almond rice should be available.

Grilled Filet of Salmon, Pan seared Snapper Filet, Beef Filet, Sandwiches and Dessert Options will be available too!

I finished things off with some of their tasty Fresh Fruit Salad.

20200626_173515

Keep up with GCG Events and try ReadiGourmet! They are in Kingston and Montego Bay. Their food and service is Simply Outstanding and never disappoints.
