It’s like our very own Chipotle, it’s Chop’d (Ig:@chopdja)!
We finally got another Healthy, Fast-Food option that we need! Centrally located in Loshusan, Barbican, you can do a quick pick up or sit down to have a bite and take a break from your busy day.
I’ve been during and after the busy lunch hour. I’m happy to say that their team is working faster and you get your options in good time. There are soooo many options!
Ideally you should get a quick breakdown according to your fave, but until then, you can do your own. What are you feeling for? What do you prefer? Salad, Bowl, Sandwich or Wrap? Then take it from there! First timers can take a glance at the Menu board for full descriptions, then grab a card to tick off your order. Remember you are NOT at Dim Sum, it adds up!
Suga has been loving Bowls recently. The Baja Bowl (J$1900) is my fave so far with a Grain blend base, cilantro lime cream, black beans, corn, pickled pineapple, sweet peppers, fresh tomato salsa, cilantro & avocado when in available/in season OR you are free to choose chopped apples etc. Loveeee that you can add hard boiled Egg (J$200/$380) & the other Protein Add-Ons are pretty good too such as Chop’d Herb Chicken (J$450/$855), Flaked Salmon (J$650/$1235) or Beef Filet ($750/$1425)…2-oz is still fulfilling.
Sandwich person? Chicken Salad Sammy with Cran-Apple Pecan (J$1700).
Wraps your thing? The Honey Mustard Salmon BLT (J$2100) is flavourful & fantastic.
Of course there are Salad Lovers here…so many options, you can build your own (J$1450 w/ 4 essentials + your Add ons). Conservatively, it can take you J$2500 without meat & J$3000 with meat.
Top things off with refreshing Iced Tea laced with the berry & flavour of choice for the day.
Great Food Quality. Love the Transparency of the Prep Process and to see that everything is kept as fresh as possible.
Having guests over and need to grab some tasty Bites, dips, sauces, Charcuterie options, Chocolate + a side of bubbly, you name it, they got it. They have the cutest market products. Most importantly, supporting Brand Jamaica too.
Even if it’s not your Economical Everyday Stop, treat yourself at Chop’d!
Have a Healthy Day!

Suga visited the Award-Winning Kamila’s Kitchen (Ig: @kamilaskitchen_ja) at their New Location in the Marketplace in her celebratory month of June and it did not disappoint!
The Restaurant was full and the Service was quick.
Being a creature of habit sometimes, I went for my favourite, the Glow Bowl, which had a special spin on it that day, where Fricasse Mushroom was the highlight! A burst of colours and flavours. I can’t believe it’s Vegetarian!
To make things complete, I had Fruits my way with their delish, satisfying Very Berry Smoothie.
As the kids head back to school, take advantage of feeding their brains with WellFit Foods and Wellness (Ig: @wellgoodja) products available at Kamila’s Kitchen, MarketPlace… Spicy Vegan Cheese, Coconut Yogurt and Walnut Lentil Meat!
Create your own version of Kamila’s Kitchen’s Best New Gastronomy Experience in your homes and feel Guilt-Free.
Also, for a Back to School Relief Weekend, head up to their Skyline Levels location next Saturday, September 14 for Restaurant Round Robin! Make your Reservations. Call +1 876-671-2336.
The Craveable, Plant-based, Dairy- Free, JAMAICAN Kamila’s Kitchen continues to be #SugaEndorsed

Want to Enjoy Easter, but stay on your Fitness Mission?
Easter Brunch or Dinner can feel just as special at home as they would at a restaurant with a little planning and prep.
Try these Dishes in the Kitchen:
1. DEVILED EGGS An Easter classic. Great brunch side or appetizer.
Use hot or mild pepper sauce, try dill or a sweet pickle relish, use fat-dree mayo and add a sprinkle of fresh Chives for more flavor.
2. Not a Deviled eggs fan? Try SPINACH AND MUSHROOM QUICHE or one of my faves, a CALLALOO FRITTATA.
Ensure you use unsweetened Almond milk and a low fat cheese such as a part skim mozzarella.
Photo: The Kichn
3. VEGGIE SIDES
Take advantage of seasonal flavors and root vegetables to add colour nutritional value to your Easter table. Root vegetables include carrots, parsnips, beets, red onion and sweet potato.
4. CORIANDER AND LEMON CRUSTED SALMON with Asparagus Salad and Poached Egg
5. CARROT CAKE OR YOUR OWN VEGETARIAN EASTER BUN!
Use whole-wheat or spelt flour (hulled, purer wheat), Unsweetened Almond milk, Cinnamon and Agave to sweeten instead of sugar.
If you aren’t Vegetarian, please also cook or bake with Olive oil or Vegetable oil, not Coconut oil. We will leave that debate for after Easter. 🙂
Have a Happy, Holy and Restful Easter. Remember Balance is key.

1. MAKE IT FUN Try to incorporate what kids like into their fitness routine. If they love dancing, consider taking them to dance class, or if they like to splash around in water, take them to swimming lessons.
2. SET GOALS AND CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT Make the goals realistic and achievable. E.g. Completing a certain number of laps around the track. Give them something to work towards and provide a reward such as, a special outing or a small treat.
3. BE A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL Parents play a crucial role in shaping a child’s attitude towards fitness. Parents should prioritize their own fitness and let their children see that. Show enthusiasm and commitment. Go for a run together. This also strengthens your bond and creates memories.
4. ENCOURAGE VARIETY Kids get bored easily, so try to keep them engaged and excited about fitness, Sometimes you may have to try new sports with them and develop their range of skills and interest. Martial Arts is a good one that also encourages a different level of focus and discipline.
5. CREATE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT Offer praise, encouragement and guidance. Also be patient and understanding when they face challenges. Teach them that perseverance and effort are just as important as success.

As you enter, you will see a sign showing that basically Good Food takes Time. Definitely freshly made, cooked to order. So if hungry, call ahead. They have THE widest range of healthy options.
Quite a clean, cosy atmosphere with a handful of in and out diners. I observed that most persons picked up their orders and the staff were polite and professional.
I had the Bad Ass Black Bean Burger with their own signature dressing in a Sprouted Spelt Burger Bun (J$2000); Baked Sweet Potato Fries that were air-fried and tossed in Cinnamon and Paprika (J$700); Immune Booster Smoothie with Spinach, Kale, Celery, Lime/Lemon Juice, Ginger and Ginger (J$950)
Hubby had the Chicken Fettuccine (whole wheat) in Pesto Scotchy White Wine topped off with parmesan cheese (J$2800).
Great flavours with a touch of spicy and we left feeling full and satisfied.
