Oh my! Check out this lunch from Layer Cake!

The Layer Cake went World Cup crazy with an Italian menu last Friday. It’s a pity the Italian fans could not celebrate a victory and the deliciousness!!!

The Italian Stuffed Chicken Meal-

Tender and succulent breast of chicken stuffed with roasted garlic, fresh basil, olive oil roasted tomatoes and a classic 3 cheese combination of fresh mozzarella, aged parmesan and mild cheddar. Drizzled with a spicy marinara sauce. Served with an orzo garden salad and a herb rice pilaf.

This tasted just like how it sounded, ABSOLUTELY Spectacular.

Cost: $1200JMD and they deliver!

After popular demands I cannot wait to see what is in store for this week and next week, will it be French or Brazilian?!

For more info contact Observer Food Awards Nominee Trevanne Donegal at [email protected]. Also I have much more to say about her ‘fantabulous’ creations so stay tuned 🙂

CBA

Sports Zone at the CBA is ready for the World Cup, where is not?!

CBA
CBA

The Sports Zone at the CBA has free entry, food by Jacqui Tyson on sale and drinks on sale. I’ve heard it also has its own feed and not the poor quality feed from CVM. VIP seating and parking available. No wonder you have to get there early before the crowd.

Word has it that a company has bought out the main viewing area of Triple Century for World Cup so it’s continuously filled with their employees. Not a good look.

Tracks and Records and Cuddyz are definite NOs to view the World Cup or to even go and eat or drink for that matter. Extremely poor service and food quality. The screens can hardly even be viewed properly at Tracks. What a shame.

MUST win so they don’t go home today – PORTUGAL

Who is going home, gone home and who will top the groups for World Cup 2014?!

GROUP A:

Camaroon should be going home. Brazil may top the group as they meet Camaroon next. Mexico and Croatia to vie for 2 nd place.

GROUP B:

Spain has gone home. So has Australia. Netherlands and Chile will face each other with 2nd place likely to face Brazil. Note that Van Persie will be sitting the next game out for the Netherlands due to 2 yellow cards.

GROUP C:

Greece and Japan should be going home with Columbia topping the group and Ivory Coast in second place. Though we still should keep an eye on Japan.

GROUP D:

England should be going home with Uruguay likely to follow. Uruguay still has a little hope but its all in Italy’s hands who should top the group with Costa Rica in 2nd. So Columbia will face either Costa Rica or Uruguay.

GROUPS E, F, G and H:

Matches to play out by Sunday, however top of the groups should be France, Argentina, Germany and Belgium respectively.

HAPPY VIEWING !!!

Updated Scores for World Cup 2014!

What a day!

Columbia has advanced to the knockout stage with their victory over the Ivory Coast and the Japan vs. Greece draw in Group C. The World Cup futures of Japan and Greece depend on their must win final match to have a chance of surpassing Ivory Coast into second place. Both teams only have one point after a scoreless draw today.

Wayne Rooney ties for 4th in England goal standings after he scored his first goal in the World Cup finals against Uruguay. He has tied with Michael Owen on 40 goals. But it was not enough. Luis Suarez played one of his best games ever and scored 2 goals for Uruguay, still giving them a glimmer of hope. Group D is one to watch to see how this all plays out.

Ribbiz is ready for the World Cup!

Great TV logistics, you can see one anywhere you sit, but for matches with favourites you better get there early due to crowding.

Popular items such as the Salmon Burger and Seasoned Fries may go quickly. Prices of cues and a few other items have gone up slightly but the food is good, burgers are a decent size, service is good and the environment is full of energy. Ofcourse, there is also the convenience of having Just Bet nearby.

Congratulations to the 5-time NBA Champions, the San Antonio SPURS !!!

Congratulations to the San Antonio SPURS for their 5th NBA Championship title in franchise history, joining the Celtics, Lakers and Bulls as the only team to accomplish that feat. The Spurs won the series 4-1 last Sunday night in blowout fashion with a final score of 104 to the Miami Heat’s, 87.

LeBron James had a blazing start in the first quarter and ended with a commendable 31 points, but nothing could stop or stand in the way of the Spurs achieving their redemption title as it slipped through their fingers last year. This rematch was also a big hit with television viewers compared to last year. The unselfishness, teamwork and ball movement of the Spurs was phenomenal with superb execution. All players made a significant contribution to the title, however out of so much talent, an MVP had to be chosen, young Kawhi Leonard who scored 22 points in the final game. Imagine what he could have done if he wasn’t in foul trouble.

Special mention also has to be made to veterans Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. Tim Duncan is now the all-time Double-Doubles leader in NBA Playoffs history passing Magic Johnson and also passed Kareem Abdul-Jabar to set the all-time record for most minutes played in play off history.

One word, GINOBILIIIIII! Manu redeemed himself majorly after 2 years of horrible inconsistency, but showed everyone how hard he is on himself and how much of a true competitor he is by both facilitating unforgettable plays and scoring huge necessary shots.

Tony Parker had his ups and downs this season and didn’t even score until the 4th quarter in Sunday’s game, but once he started scoring he was on fire. His style of play and speed is always a beauty to watch and he said this was the sweetest victory for him yet.

So what’s next?! According to Tony Parker and Owner, Peter Holt, the Spurs should be back to try to defend their title next year. Tim and Manu may play until they die. Gregg Popovich would also like to coach beyond this year. Congrats to him as well for an excellent season, many years of great coaching and the ability to bond with all players. The relationship Pop has with the Spurs is on a different level compared to other teams.

So until next year, Go Spurs Go!
