TGIF! How fun was the Jamaica Observer Food Awards last night?!
I don’t think many persons found the GCG Events booth around the back, but their surprise cocktails handed to you were one of the highlights to my night. Not to mention their spicy JACKFRUIT CRÈME BRÛLÉE! 😠Stay tuned and follow Suga Lifestyle for more OFA highlights!
Enjoy the weekend!

You may be more familiar with Trevanne Donegal and The Layer Cake, but after returning from further Cuisine and Patisserie training at the well established Le Cordon Bleu in London, she has been building her dream kitchen and has rebranded with the name, Sear 274!
Here is just a touch of what she has been up to since she has been back. Absolutely salivating!
Look out for her and one of my other faves, Christina Simonitsch at Martell & GH Mumm’s booth at the Table Talk Jamaica Observer Food Awards tomorrow night at the Devon House!
Trevanne will have Dark Chocolate Martell Cognac Caramel Truffles ðŸ˜
Suga can’t wait to try Trevanne’s goodies on an even more elevated level.
Welcome home Trevanne!

Ashlee Douillard had her aha moment to start her own line of sketchbooks in 2013, while studying architecture and there was a continuous need for quality sketch pads.
It wasn’t until 2017 when she started to sell them and saw that this could be a lucrative business for her. Her line of handmade books, Ashurii Designs, include ruled journals and planners in various sizes that can be customised as well. They showcase the work of various young, local artists.
This initiative is Ashlee’s creative way to fund school supplies and her masters degree.
I finally got my customised, handmade sketchbook from Ashurii Designs a few weeks ago that had to have pink material. This was before she started advertising customised quotes and more on her books though, so can’t wait get more! Who knows, maybe GW Art will be a part of an Ashurii Designs handmade book soon too.
Remember that when you support a small business, someone does a happy dance.

They also made Craft Cart Jamaica’s Pop Up Craft Village event write up two Sundays ago!
Kudos to the Rotaract Club of New Kingston for inviting me to help execute this initiative.
Kudos also to Craft Cart Jamaica for providing us with the opportunity to showcase their products at their trade show.
Thanks to everyone who supported this initiative by purchasing art pieces, helping with their promotion and more!

Lovers Leap has a breezy, breathtaking view of Jamaica’s southern coast stretching from Rocky Point, Clarendon in the east to Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth in the west. It is truly the best view in Jamaica for Suga. I didn’t want to leave.
The restaurant by Lovers Leap is definitely another local hotspot in St. Elizabeth. The menu pleases the local crowd with favourites such as Fish Tea and Fritters to start with, followed by choices of Oxtail, Curried Goat, Fish any way you like it, with sides of festival, bammy and/or rice and peas.
The food was being served by buffet that Easter Sunday. I’m not sure if it was because it was a holiday, but we had to tell the server when to stop! Food was in abundance and it was juicy and tender to the bone. Real Jamaican style.
Lovers Leap for juicy, Jamaican Cuisine is #SugaEndorsed!
The story behind Lovers Leap
If you don’t remember the Legend of Lovers Leap, here you go!
Yardley Chase Plantation owner, Richard Chardley was in love with his housekeeper, Mizzy, but she was in love with another enslaved African, Tunkey from a neighbouring Plantation. Chardley was aware of this and planned to sell Tunkey to have Mizzy all for himself.
Mizzy and Tunkey decided to try and escape, but were chased to this site by the sea cliffs. In a final embrace, the lovers leapt to their death.
