Cellar 8 was the place Suga’s husband, Randy chose for the Valentine’s Day date!
He loved their menu, also endorsed by Suga and wanted to avoid places that felt too crowded.
Cellar 8 seemed to manage an expected heavy flow of diners for the occasion well by having two seatings for the night, 6pm and 9pm. 6pm was a bit too early for a Friday evening, so we appreciate being accommodated for 7pm.
From the looks of it, appetizer servings seemed small, but we came out on top with the Chicken Marsala Kebab served over a mixed green salad and the creamy Seafood Bisque.
Randy’s cut of Steak could have been bigger, but it was cooked to medium rare perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed my Seafood Thermidor.
Their Blackforest Cake and house made Gelato trio were a sweet ending to the evening.
With regards to cost, it was the usual high end price compared to if you chose from their regular menu, racking up a bill of about JA$20,000 for two if you ordered an additional beverage. Perhaps they could offer a Valentine’s Day special next year.
As a part of the earlier set of diners, service was managed relatively well. If there was any delay, we were made aware right away. The food was delectable and the ambience suited the occasion. Loved the brawta photo on the way out! Cellar 8, thanks for a memorable evening.

The Belgian capital hosted it’s 7th edition of Salon du Chocolat last weekend from February 14th to 16th, celebrating Chocolate in all its shapes and forms.
4 of our local Bean-to-Bar Chocolatiers, Wouter Tjeerte of Pure Chocolate Company, Carl Sharpe of Chocollor Chocolate, Nadine Burie of Likkle More Chocolate and Nick Davis of One One Cacao were a few of the 100 participants that took part in the 3-Day event at Tour & Taxis. Amongst them were other Chocolatiers, Bean-to-Bar specialists, Confectioners, Pastry chefs and cocoa-producing countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith along with Jamaica’s Ambassador to the EU, Sheila Sealey Monteith accompanied our Chocolatiers to give them support.
Visitors enjoyed pastry-making lessons, recipe demonstrations by top chefs and chocolate masters, tasting sessions and a Chocolate Fashion show!
Our Chocolatiers did not only bring our Bean-to Bar Chocolate to Brussels, but they did well. Likkle More Chocolate and Pure Chocolate Company completely sold out and Nick Davis’s One One Cacao will now be available in Europe from Bean to Bar! They offer Chocolates from around the world and will have One One Cacao’s St. Thomas Coconut Milk and Clarendon Bars available for a limited time.
Congratulations to all our Local Chocolatiers that brought Jamaican Chocolate to Europe. We are proud of you and appreciate you. One Love.

The Sugar Mill Restaurant by Half Moon, Montego Bay has the perfect ambience for Valentine’s Day Dinner. I am not sure if they have any special menu for the day, but if you go, be sure to ask for your local rate and enjoy.

The Blue Window Restaurant has quite an eye-catching menu and they aim to please with added entertainment. Even their Island Jerk Chicken Salad looks good. But how do you choose between that and the Spicy Curry Shrimp with whipped saltfish?! Make sure you order both and feed each other. I would also definitely have their Surf & Turf.

The Project also has the support of e-Learning Jamaica Co. Ltd. ‘Impact Through Unity’ is Rotaract’s theme for the year, which inspired the majority of the pieces.
Last Saturday at Suga Lifestyle’s V-Day Pop Up Shop, the kids showcased their Paintings guided by Gabrielle Burgess, Founder/Owner of GW Art and Jewellery guided by Bianca Bartley, CEO/Creative Director of Peace-is of Bianca. All proceeds from sales went towards the students’ educational resources and the school’s infrastructure and there is still a need for more funding, for instance, to supply classrooms with fans that are currently without.
