This Suga Taster went to the Fort Lauderdale location a few years ago in September 2016 for a Birthday dinner and remembered how good the food was, so she decided to try the new location which was closer to her. She was quite disappointed though!
Appetizer
Drink
The Lemonade was fresh and made to order, with mint and Limoncello (liqueur).
This sure looks good, but my Suga Taster found the sauce to be quite salty.
It seemed like the Lobster meat was not previously removed from the shell, cooked, sauced and replaced for service, because this Suga Taster had difficulty removing the Lobster from the shell with a knife and fork. After all, this was not a restaurant that required a bib.
This dish was the pleaser with an abundance of Crab meat. No complaints for this one.
Desserts
Dinner came to a decent close as my Suga Taster’s family were delighted with their dessert that had just the right amount of sweet.

A firefighter reported that the entire section of the upper floor of the two-story National Children’s Home was destroyed last Friday, August 9.
The Jamaica National Children’s Home in Papine, St Andrew is a facility that provides care and protection for children rescued from poverty and neglect. It was opened in 1973 as a branch of Britain’s National Children’s Home.
It is unkown how the fire began, but thankfully, of the 38 children housed at the facility, there were no known injuries. The children were between 8 and 17 years old and have been relocated to another facility.
The fire took place just 4 days after caregivers at the Jamaica National Children’s Home participated in a fire drill at the facility. The caregivers were equipped and able to act rationally and quickly when 2 children were asleep while the fire had started. They were able to save their lives.
There have been recent fires at other Children’s homes, so the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) will be inspecting and conducting fire drills at other Children’s Homes soon.
The Children from the home are now in need of clothing items and toiletries as soon as possible.

From making jams at home for fun, then encouraged by her husband and friends to start packaging what they enjoyed, Ayesha Allen started selling her Chia Seed Jams in 2016. Ayesha and husband, Ramaar took a leap of faith and just 2 months later they were nominated for Best Product for the Table Talk Jamaica Observer Food Awards in 2017!
Their Chia Seed Jams are Gluten free, Vegan friendly and come in a variety of flavours such as Strawberry, Blueberry and Pineapple. The Pineapple and Strawberry are favourites and I can see why. The flavours are stronger than the Blueberry. Even though you can order your Jams non-sweetened, I found there is no need, because the original isn’t even that sweet but still has the right balance of flavour. I tried them both. So you can enjoy these Jams with pretty much anything.
The business has expanded to offer healthy snacks too or what some persons like myself use as part of a Shake, such as Peanuts, Walnuts, Almonds, Pistachios, Chia seeds, Raisins and Cranberries, all at affordable prices.
Here are great ways to enjoy your Ara Foods Flavoured Chia Seed Jams!
â— With your Yogurt
Suga’s favourite so far is the Strawberry Chia Seed Jam. I made my own Yogurt Parfait and it was divine! Enjoy food the in a healthy way!
â— With your Porridge
â— As a Dip
â— As a spread
Your Ara Food Jams would complement a Peanut Butter spread on bread or crackers so well!
â— With your Pancakes
Last weekend I had the Blueberry Chia Seed Jam with my Pancakes and a touch of low fat butter. It hit the spot!
â— As a Pastry Filling
â— As a topping to your Cheesecake or Pie
Such a guilty pleasure!
A range of options for reasonable prices!Â
Order your Healthy Snacks and your Chia Seed Jams from Ara Foods Jamaica today and have fun being creative in the kitchen. Their flavoured Chia Seed Jams are versatile and #SugaEndorsed!

Our former Miss Universe Jamaica, Kaci Fennell, now Kaci Fennell Shirley has always been known to experiment in the kitchen. Looks like she has a winner! Kaci has produced a line of hot sauces and Pepper Jellies, FenMade. Suga sampled them at Christmas in July and they were scorching. Most impressive was the Cilantro Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce.

Suga introduces you to Suga Taster, Kimberly Nesbeth!
Kimberly is an Aquatic Exercise Instructor as well as an Auditor. Her favourite dish is Smoked Pork Chops. Kimberly frequenty travels out of town and her favourite casual spot is Blue Mahoe, Negril and her favourite choice for an occasion is The Trident Hotel, Portland. She has travelled to 20 countries including Thailand, Singapore, India, Brazil, Spain and France! Kimberly enjoys trying new things and detests eating at the same places. Let’s see where Suga Taster, Kimmy dined and what she had to say!
Suga Taster, Kimberly Nesbeth’s Ratings for the Summer Special, Bottomless Prosecco and Pasta Dinner at The Trident Hotel
After a splendid day at Frenchman’s Cove, Suga Taster, Kimmy’s party was famished. So with two Canadians in tow, she thought it would be a great opportunity for them to view the exquisite Trident Hotel whilst enjoying a pleasant meal.
They felt welcomed from the entrance to the parking lot. Their server was quite hospitable and recommended they order from the Bottomless Prosecco & Pasta Dinner Menu for USD$30 per person. The options were limited, but enough for them to all order something different. After trying to get their Prosecco refill, they were notified that the Prosecco in fact wasn’t bottomless. However, due to the misleading menu title, they received a complimentary refill.
Their server was remarkably attentive and the food was truly tasty. After their meal, they received a full tour of the property and one of the villas.
